Anybody running this tire size with MT and stock 4.30 ring and pinion?

How is it off the line and do you have to clutch a lot both in high and low ranges? MPG?

It'll be a while till I can swap out the suspension (gears too), but I need more ground clearance so thinking of doing a cheap 3" inch spacer lift for now. Thinking if I keep it light with skinny d range tires it might not be too bad.

Also, I'm on the west coast so lots of mountain roads to climb.

You can fit a 255 85 16 on OEM wheel with no lift or cutting according to many on here...

Thanks. Question is more about power performance on and off highway rather than tire to body clearance.

Many on here are running 33s without complaint.

Only real issue I see is crawl speed getting too high

Yeah, that's one of my concerns.

Freedom, American flags and ISIS blood Morimoto 35w 5500k HID/ LED highs from TRS. RCI expo rack Core Short throw shifter, hypertech speedo recalibrator. Rear seat molle panel. OVT. PnP 2LM. C4 Hybrid Bumper w/ amber BD squadron pods. 33 pizza cutters. T9 radio
The pizza cutters won't affect power too much. Less width is less contact with the ground so what you lack in width will make up for the weight.. there's a very lengthy post about it in the thread on that tire size with lots of fancy maths.

I have no issues at all and I carry a lot of weight in the rear. I love my pizza cutters!

3 inches, Ray10s, 34s, OVTuning, and driver mod for now.
I have no issues with 34x10.50s, I will say after tuning it the truck has been much happier leaving from a dead stop.

IMG_3296.jpg IMG_3327.jpg I have. 285/70r17. Cab and bed rack with rtt, snomaster fridge, battery box with 2x 6v batteries, bedslide, 10lbs air bottle, pelfrey bumpers, sliders, front-mid-gas tank skids, solar panel and awning, swing out rear with spare wheel/tire. I'm guessing I have 700-800lbs at a minimum.

Drivability isn't much different than stock, however it's been so long I can't really tell anymore. Climbing from sea level to say big bear you can feel it working harder but it's not terrible.

People call the functional sized tires aka taller but not excessively wide, pizza cutters.

I'm running 285/75/16's. Acceleration is a tad slower, but being a 3rd gen you have to get higher in the RPMs to get moving anyway.

Gas mileage went from 20 to 18.5mpg, so barely any loss.

I would say a 4.56 may be better suited for 33's, but I believe 4.88 is the only gear set available at the moment.

ETA - crap, I just noticed you are talking about manuals...deleted
