I would go led, hids in high beams don't work too well as they take time to fire up, flashing them doesn't work well.

I'll look into those do they give you any more range distance wise we got a lot of deer and elk out here and open ranges for cows so the more distance I got the better

I've had the Morimoto 35w 4500k kit with the LED fogs from TRS installed for a few months and 3k miles and they've been perfect. I am not experiencing any problems with bounce as some others have posted, but based on what I can tell, this setup seems to be less prone to experience it. Mine did come with the newer grommet and the passenger housing was much harder to secure than the drivers' but it did mount completely with a little bit more elbow grease. I would recommend this setup without hesitation.

Factory stuff so far. Mud flaps, tow package, weather mats, bed mat.
Would be interested in seeing where you end up. The last couple of posts here seem to sum it up nicely for those of us that live in "critter world".
I have HID's on low beam and plan on the Morimoto LED driving lights. The HID's have such excellent throw I've been very pleased. They combine with the stock high beams nicely but I wouldn't mind better.
HID for high beam has that practical limitation pointed out for flashing and my understanding is a high amount of on/off shortens their life. That brings us to LED for high which isn't as focused as HID but could perform much better than stock but gives me some concern about ever being able to use them to flash oncoming traffic safely.
The reason I plan to go to LED driving lights is for the additional breadth they add closer in for those late breaking deer from the brush. I do not have concerns about using them with incoming traffic assuming they are aimed correctly. What I don't know is how well they perform in the dense fog and heavy rain without having some yellow. I do know the low beam HID's do a far better job than stock in those weather conditions.

I think I'll give those leds a try iv got some yellow led pods that will hook up to my fog lights switch coming for my pelfrey bumper I had just the standard pods in there before so should be easy to hook up and should help for any fog or winter storms and dusty roads I'll be doing the headlights here shortly once winter hits its dark when I leave home and dark when I come home so would be nice having the upgraded lights

Just upgraded the lighting on the 4Runner. Went with the Elite HID kit and running the 5500K 35W XB bulbs. They made a huge difference!

These are H11's though. Should those be used for high beams? I see Morimoto's application on the link you provided shows for low beam.

They will work, as listed on the website you will need to trim a very small amount off one of the tabs. A file or a Dremel will work in a matter of seconds.

Same set-up here. Check your install of the bulbs. Mine were super tight to get in and I struggled with both. After checking them prior to the first drive I noticed that one was slightly loose. I used channel locks to get a good grip to turn them, locking them in place. I just hope I never have to take them out....
