Well at least they took the speaker savings and applied it to the rear disc brakes. Ooops. My bad. No rear disc brakes. Well where did they put the savings. They used it to hire this Audio Engineer.Kyles 4th of july bash.jpg

Not to excuse the quality of the stock speakers but the magnets are small because they are neodymium magnets.

Oh so thats why they are so powerful. Seriously they sounded ok considering what they are. I will take my speakers with fat thumper magnets any day over those neodymium dinky magnets.

Sounds like a line to use on the ladies. "Yes it is small but it is neodymium"

Very happy with the tweeter upgrade! I didn't think the Subaru tweeters would help, they seem lighter than the stock tweeters, but I installed them anyway. Very easy to do, I did have to remove the pillar cover. Can't believe the difference, well worth it. I couldn't even tell that the stock tweeters were there and the highs were very muddled; now, I know they are there. Thanks for the info.

You'll want to use a 10mm socket or wrench.

Driving a few streets back in an older neighborhood today.....4 ft of water in these homes, all vehicles totaled. That's why there are no cars...very few rentals available either even after 3 weeks.
The smell was unreal....someone with a sense of humor....Garage Sale....

This happened in NC in my parents childhood home town a few years ago. It is a surreal site to see. And the stinch was hard to describe. That was a rural area so it wasn't as many homes affected but was bad none the less.

I thank you, the OP, and the tweeter thread guy. I wanted to upgrade awhile back but had basically read it would be not worth without an amp. You have helped me with my decision. Asked my wife on the phone if she remembered me wanting to uprade my stereo to which her response was a flat "uh huh". Told her, "well, I just found something on Tacomaworld ". Her response was silence

I did my speaker and tweeter upgrade yesterday afternoon. HUGE improvement in sound clarity, quality, and punch. I wasn't unhappy with the sound of the stock speakers until I heard these..

Thanks again OP for the links and the heads up on Crutchfield's sale!!

I keep checking thread thinking of doing this. Did you notice a lot of difference with just the
tweeters alone - did you have them in prior to replacing the other speakers?

This is the only thing I haven't swapped out - I've done JL Audio for the doors, put in
an Alpine amp and have a full length ported sub with a 10" JL speaker and it sounds
great but I still have the stock tweeters.

Yes, I did the tweeters first and it made a world of difference. If you've invested everything you already have in your system, the tweeters will make yet another improvement. The stock tweeters really are worthless... you won't be dissappointed. Lots of definition comes from that dash area as the treble bounces off the windshield. The tweeters add more dimension - that "surround" feeling. For me when I got the tweeters my highs were much clearer but then it just made the door speakers stick out like a sore thumb bc of the difference in quality between my highs and mid/bass

This is so sad to see - thank you for sharing though. Hopefully things start to clean up in the next few weeks....

What kills me is, as bad as this devastation has been... and within a few days all of our news is back to the ongoing elephant and donkey fight that is US politics whilst so many people have lost homes :(

Was good to see some forum members step up (and offer ways folks like me could contribute to their causes) to help with the relief efforts though!

I just got a Crutchfiled PDF file for installation of the tweeter, and speakers.
It has instructions for removing the Entune and plugging in wires and shows the door speakers requiring wire splicing.
I thought from the OMP per his video that this was plug n play?

That is because Crutchfield doesn't know about the Subaru tweeters being plug n play. Any other tweeters would require splicing since they are wired in-line of the door speakers.
    Basically you can disregard..

So is Crutchfield currently the cheapest place to get these speakers? I am not tech savvy when it comes to stereo/speaker replacing and don't want to screw something up and get a rattle but it sounds like even I could do the tweeters. Are the tweeters easy to get to? Sorry for so many questions but this may be one of the most helpful threads on here.

No worries. Seems folks have better success removing the a-pillar cover but seriously if you follow the instructions on that video in the OP to a T you can't screw it up whether tech savvy or not. It's a short project to replace those
