The best part of life is those moments where you just feel at ease with everything around you.

Doesn't matter who with, just the feeling that life is good! Staring at the stars and dreaming, life is beautiful.

Stroking the dog adds to the pleasure.

    I love those moments.

Sorry. I don't mean to drag anyone down. Ive been to the site numerous times. Sifted through the rubble looking for the last few things I wish I had taken... I was fine. Really. Until I went there on Friday, knowing this would be the last time I saw everything the way it was. Thats when I lost it, for the first time since the fire... Lots of drinking tonight...

Well, you're going to rebuild I'm assuming? Anything y'all plan on doing differently this time? Maybe make it out of cinder blocks and have a built-in self watering anti fire system?

It's not how you get knocked down but how you get back up. I have a feeling you'll kick ass and come out of this stronger for the experience. Bottoms up ;)

Waiting on rainy season, should start any day now. From photo, I think you can see how steep the land is. There's very little vegetation to hold the soil back... if it's a mud slide, we'll put utilities back in (well, septic...) and sell it.

We are moving forward. Many folks-even strangers- have commented about how well we are managing it (especially mentally).

    ❤️

    Cheers!

Our insurance has been fantastic! Had a check within a few days of learning the house was gone.

The cool part is when I asked 'do we have to rebuild here?' He said no. He had a client that had a total loss and bought his retirement/forever house from the funds. This is something we are considering too.
