Morning all. First day without the "boss". This is going to be interesting as some have already been jockeying to change 'how things are done'. Another webmeeting for me for my Certified Quality Engineering class, so I'll work from home today.

Sounds like a plan, but I can't get my loader and dump truck through the front door.

0307hrs...I usually have another hour and a half before I hit snooze...or 30 minutes when temps are above 115, so I guess I pretend it's hot, suck it up, start the work day between 0400 and 0430 then get off work between 1400 and 1430. I guess that's a plan.

Videoing the monitor doesn't look good. Not good enough for contract fulfillment.

So, another reason not to buy a Ford....

...this cashier that works with my wife says she got a fix it ticket for no license plate light. "Bring it over". It's an 02 Focus hatchback. Long story short, the loom that goes between the hatch and the body, through a rubber boot, has the insulation broke on every wire going through the boot. The license plate light wire is broke and the wire is now too short to reconnect. I do a google search on it and there were reported problems from 00-07 on this little gem that Ford didn't want to recall. The first post I found was a guy with an 01 and his woes started in 04. By then the 01 loom was obsolete. But I guess they all interchange.

Some of the symptoms of this problem are dash lights not working, cruise control in-op, dome light, tail lights, rear cargo light, rear wiper...crazy shit.

Tomorrow I'll go back into it and see if I can't get the boot cut off and start rewrapping the cracked insulation on all the wires and see if I can get things working again. Besides the license plate light, she also has no dash lights...all related.

Went through 3 in 5 years then it took out the trans. No recall.

    Won't work buddy.
You need to replace the harness section. If you do repair it, it will break again. Or never use the hatch.
