looking at a Gobi rack for the taco. I have the factory roof rails, should I use them or the ones the Gobi comes with?

If you use the factory rails to mount the gobi rack, why pay for the gobi? Do it right (once).

Gobi installed. Wait was ridiculous, but the product is very legit.

Great to see. I just wish they had made it longer and I’d be all over it.

How’s the wind noise? Did you test with and without the fairing?

No test without, with it there is nothing I have noticed. I had a Yakima rack and there is no comparison. The Yakima was way loud. This rack is quite impressive. Today I put on he accessories that came with it and they are bomb proof. Incredibly solid products.

    Thanks CY88,

I had one previously, and it was a tank. I'd like to add one to my current Taco (FJ before), but am trying to get them to build me a one-off that's longer. I'll post up somewhere if I get them to do that. I just don't know why they went so short.

Looks awesome! Be careful on how much pressure that fairing is putting on your roof. I had a gobi on a land cruiser and the rubber strip along the bottom of the fairing eventually got dirt under it and wore the paint. My .02 is just make sure it has light pressure on the roof! :turtleride:

Also took Gobi 9 month to get it to me... haha sweet rack thought!

I had one on my FJ for probably 8+ years. I thought about that when I put it on, and then promptly didn't care for those 8+ years. Then again, it was an FJ vs. an LC. Different price points by a factor of 2.5+

When did you order? One of the first I’ve seen on the Tacoma other than the gobi site.

Just thought I'd drop this here. This was probably 800+ lbs of pressure treated lumber. Just like the Honey Badger.... Gobi don't care!

Yah...hah. I was about to cancel order, and then I got a call from the freight company saying it was being delivered. Crazy wait but hands down best rack. Prinsu is nice but side by side this is far more solid, imo.

I agree, I have one on order which is why I was asking lol. After researching, I couldn’t bring myself to order any other rack. Especially because I have a sunroof and no other rack provided a sunroof option. But I also like that it’s one welded part vs bolted together with screws.
