    You'd think that, but Carfax is only as good as the body shops who care. When I sold an old Corolla that had been hit 6 different times (none of them my fault - San Antonio is full of dipshits) only one of those 6 was on the Carfax report...and it was the one that was the lamest. Got full value for it.

    The body shop does not report that information actually it is up to the insurance company. Carfax buys information from the insurance companies and since some insurance companies have non disclosure agreements they won't sell the info therefore it may not be reported.
