Catylitic Heat Foil

I was under my truck yesterday and noticed I didn't have a heat foil on my passenger side rear cat. A member here mentioned that there may not be one on that side. I'm curious if I'm missing one and need to get it replaced or is there not supposed to be one. So if you know off the top of your head or wouldn't mind taking a quick look under your truck it would be appreciated.

Damn I noticed the title was misspelled after I hit submit oh well.

Can anybody find pics of the undercarriage that would show the rear cats? I can't seem to find one.

 

You mean like that shield on the cat ? I am missing on one too but on driver side

 

Yeah on the rear cats. That's funny. Apparently these aren't put on too well. Another member said he was missing both of his. I guess they aren't too important. Thanks for the reply.

 

Ah since its not like this out of factory I guess we going have to replace them

 

Its only on the driver side. none on the passenger side.

ha funny because I am missing one on driver side I have one on passenger side. I can also see marks on cat like shield used to be there. I was hoping thats how it came from factory but now suspect i lost it somewhere.
Or this guys in factory putting them randomly.

 

haha that's weird. i remember when i went to the dealership to buy my truck, i went under, must of been at least a dozen, tacos and all had only one heatshield on the driver side only. thought nothing of it at the time but i do remember it.

 

That's funny. I remember random shit like that all the time. What's odd is I'm under my truck all the time and I would have thought that I would have noticed this earlier if it weren't there.

 

yeh its funny i remember that shit being under all those trucks but i didn't realize my entire bed was composite till i got home after buying it. haha. go figure.
