I'll have to take your word on it as 1. It makes sense and 2. I know not of suspension specifics.
@ARCHIVE would you be able to chime in on this?

Hey, if you keep the shackle angle about 30degfrom vertical, there is a minimal impact on weight capacity. With Allpro expos, brackets in rearmost position (4 original holes), then 4" shackles have 30deg angle.

This a direct quote from a pm from @ARCHIVE when I inquired about his very subject.

I know many of the LT guys that run full SUA rears typically have 1.5" spacers on theirs. They typically run 16" 2.5s if that might give some better insight.

    @Thyces

My current opinion is that for a given spring, changing the angle of shackle somewhat changes the installed rate of the spring, whether the shackle points up or down.
I posted before that stock 3+1 springs actually gain positive arch with Archive shackle flip. Most positive arched aftermarket springs do get flatter though.
I feel the shackle flip has a minimal impact on weight capacity if shackle angle is kept moderate.
I think the shackle flip is good at flex, good for folks who offroad hard by replacing bend prone stock hanger.

Yes, but no one has done it that I know of.
The rear shackle hangers are the same between 5 and 6 lug.

Nothing much yet, just an Snugtop high rise camper shell for now
I've really been looking into this shackle flip kit. This is definitely my next investment. I was reading this post that this kit does actually promote more positive arch. If this is true I definitely would love a set. I am running my stock TSB leafs right now. I have an A.R.E MX camper shell that weighs 200lbs and I have about 60lbs of tools in the bed with that. Now my leafs are at negative arch already and my ride sucks.. So stiff cause the overload is taking play. Now by reading your set-up was stock springs with flip kit along with towing 1700lb pop up camper and camping gear on the bed.. with only slight negative arch.. thats where i need to be.

Been subbed from day one and finally decided to pull the trigger and now they're sold out.

    :annoyed:

When's the next batch going to be available?
Thanks and keep up the great work.

Sorry bud, sales were slow mid summer, I realize now because summer is so hot on the left Coast and south, but now everyone is like "Desert season!", so they sold out quick past few weeks

5-6 weeks out for next batch

Based on my own experience with the shackle flip and stock spring, I dont recommend the shackle flip with completely stock packs.
    Quoted from my site:
"-Not recommended for use with completely stock spring packs, unless used in conjuction with Add-a-leaf, preferably the 3-leaf progressive kits. Reason: my DCSB went from negative arch with stock hanger to a slight positive arch with the shackle flip, the gain in arch resulted in more axle wrap with stock 3+1 springs because the pack lifted off the "overload" thick leaf, Toyota apparently designed as active part of the spring pack during everyday operation even unloaded."

I got the new @ARCHIVE shock relocate kit installed over the weekend along with the shackle flip. The install went really smoothly and faster than expected. The most difficult part was grinding off the stock shock tower/axle mounts and removing the rivets on the stock shackle hanger.

Plasma cutting the bulk of the stock shackle hanger. After grinding the rivets flush, we used an air hammer and punch to pound out the top two rivets. The bottom rivets had to be drilled out.

Driver side shock tower freshly welded to the frame and waiting for paint.

Test fitting the shackle flip. I ended up not drilling new holes for a 45* shackle angle at ride height, but the option to do it later is always available if needed.

The King shocks don't come with reservoir brackets, so the reservoirs are zip-tied to the frame for now:

    They're the PR2514-SS 14" travel smooth bodies. 37.25" extended, 23.25" collapsed.

What springs did you go with and how much of the 14" of travel are you able to use? Good looking welds!

I'm still rocking the OME Dakar with extra leaf. Haven't had a chance to flex it out yet, but on the jacks with the axle fully drooped I have around an inch left of shock travel.

Nice! Are you going to need to run wheel spacers?

I'm not sure, but I threw on some 1" wheel spacers just in case. I have the SCS SR8 16" wheels with 4" backspacing. With the spacers, there is about 3-3.5" between the shock and the edge of the tire.
