I noticed a lot of people paint/dip their badges black or a dark grey. Anyone on here paint the badges red? Just curious what it looks like.

The grill badge? Looks orange to me but I could be wrong. I was wondering more about the Tacoma lettering and V6 etc.

Here is my guy!(yes guy...I know vehicles are supposed to be girls )

Just got some new tires and wheels...265/70/17 no rubbing on the pavement with a load in the back... Ill test it out when I go off-roading in the next week or two :)

Windows are also tinted not sure how much...I told my guy to put the darkest stuff on the back windows and then to put as dark as he thought I could go with out getting pulled over for the front windows

Much more to come...can't wait to beef this guy up :D

Update: Just plasti-dipped the chrome emblems yesterday! Super easy and definitely fool-proof

I do have to redo the 4x4 on the back because it was the first one I pulled off and I was a little too hasty with it but other than that this was super easy and fun and I didn’t even use a full can of plasti-dip

Update: Got a matte black tailgate insert from @CBoy808 looks super good!

yeah super strict! I have another vehicle with with the front windows completely blacked out and used to get pulled over ALL the time...haven't in awhile though. I think officers don't care as much anymore?

Thank you! Love the color, doesn't look as dirty as black but still has the darker look!

285/70r17 - so basically a 33". Had 35's on my Wrangler and won't do that again - they were nice, but really heavy.

That's crazy, what have you done in terms of fine tuning it like rear diff angle, gears, chopping?

    For the rear?

    Diff angle is eyeballed. :)

Gears are 4.88. No chopping in the rear. Just wider fiberglass bedsides. I think it's sitting arounf 2.5" lift maybe 3" max.

damn, that's interesting haha for the rear did I got a tom woods double cardan (http://www.4xshaft.com/) drive shaft which basically eats up all of the angles up at the output from the transfer case and is also a single piece. that eliminated all of the weird vibrations at highway speeds for me. I've got like 4" in the front and 6"ish in the rear. how do you like the gears? besides power did they give you back any mileage? I'm averaging about 17mpg with 34's

I might eventually get a different driveshaft. That'll give me a bit more down travel.

Gears i really like. I went from 33's stock gearing, 35's with stock gearing and then regeared, now 37's. Besides the weight I feel like 37's match the ratio a bit better. I can hold 6th gear doing about 75 as long as it's flat.

Gas mileage is another story. 35's and stock gearing It would drop to around 10mpg. The last tank I manged to get 147 miles (or so) from full to gas light turning on.

I took out my shiftsense and do my own shifting. I pulled a record 12.7mpg last tank. I never saw that with 35's. I think it's because my truck is so heavy. I bet I'm pushing 6k pounds now.

I don't know what you're doing but you're doing it wrong! haha. I know you have a bumper, long arm kit and the rack with the tent, but does that all really add up to 2k? have you recalibrated the speedometer? I know before I did the truck was only getting like 15mpg.
