So i would be down to do some trail clean up if they allowed us to enter the park for free, or perhaps we can come out on a day they are closed and have the park to ourselves. I think that would be dope! Trash pick up would probably only draw a few people, but..... cutting/clearing new trails, setting up for events, stuff like that may draw a few more people.

 

Im down to do some clearing and cutting.... of our own camp site at BMRA!

 

They are not going to allow some random assholes from the internet to cut new trails. I know this group and wouldn't trust us to do that. The only things they would let us do unsupervised is likely pick up trash, maybe trim back trees, but there are plenty of idiots who don't understand the term trim and would kill trees.

 

Join arklatex, help clear and use their site. Join TTR, use one of the nicest sites at BMRA.

Maybe i wanna build a camp site catered to 2WDs, there will be paved parking and 4x4 magazines available

 

Yeah that is true i guess.... Maybe i can volunteer my own time out there one weekend to prove my competence and maybe go from there...

It's called a cabin, they are also air conditioned.

They are reserved for members. Arklatex was the last new camp and they were told to stop expanding. I don't see the park allowing another camp to be built especially by a loose group of people from Dallas. The other camps were created by clubs that we're registered as non-profit

these all sound fun, hidden falls forsure, I may take a half day and go down Friday if anyone else interested in going down then as well. Do they have dedicated camp spots there or just pick a spot?

I have vacation scheduled the following week, so I can't take that Friday off. But, I may be able to head down Friday night after work. If not, I'd leave early Saturday morning to get there by 10 or so.

Looks like they have primitive tent sites ($15) as well as some that have water and electricity for $5 more. Full RV hookups and bunkhouses too if anyone had a need for that.

Pretty sure this is called a State Park.

I am pretty sure some form of TW campsite is in the works or has been in the works for BMRA. But I am not sure where at in the process that is or was.

But I could be completely wrong and it could have fallen through. So don't quote me on this.

 

Never going to happen. All the current campsites are associated with Texas off-road groups that have a direct relationship with TMTC, a vested interest in the success of the park, and an elected board that is responsible for the actions of their members.

Tacomaworld is a web forum. Users don't pay dues. Of the several hundred thousand registered users a small percentage are located in Texas and even fewer will ever visit BMRA. I don't see Tacomaworld ever sending a check to TMTC in support of their parks. I understand you are, like I am, a big fan of the site but it's not a club with bylaws or organized meetings or even a common goal, it's just an enthusiast forum.

 

Understandable. I just know that people were in talks with the owner of the park and so forth. So if it happens, then who knows, if not, then who knows.

I am not directly involved, I just know about it.
