Cool. Shes an oldie but she packs a punch. I'll luber up and get her ready for the ride. I might also bring some oak but if we can collect that will save weight on the trip up.

@Maggot61 idk if you have the California trail book but here is the page on burns canyon. Did you do the boulder-y decent between numbers 3 & 4? Are we just take the upper part toward cactus flats?

If that's the area i'm remembering there is a bypass/offshoot dropoff directly to the left that i foresee the majority of everyone who does that trail will use the bypass/offshoot.The picture below is the area to the right that i would advise those who choose to do so have high clearance, patience in picking the proper lines and armor(skids, sliders)in particular.IMG_3985.jpg

i do, i went about half way between 3 & 4 before i turned around. those boulders are gnarly even for a descent, i don't have sliders or a winch all things we would probably need to make it down. before you get to 3 it's a really good trail up to heartbreak ridge!

yup that's it, but the those boulders are sticking out a whole lot more! The last rains we've had must of washed a lot of the dirt away. I see but then again i didn't really check for the offshoot!

    What trail is that on?
Trailsoffroad is saying jacoby canyon is closed?! hard to tell from the photo without having my book infront of me. Also if you don't have an account to that site (its free) you should.
EDIT: See better now. Says burns canyon. Thats the one to the left.

The offshoot to the left is almost not recognizable until your actually closer to the right side where the huge rocks/boulders and deep ruts are.Don't even want to imagine what it looks like now.LOL!The offshoot to the left is fine for everyone in my opinion. It's just a small drop off that having armor isn't required.
