I have a 15 taco and I just put new wheel and tires on it yesterday. I was driving today on the highway at 63MPH and was getting steering wheel wobble. I was not getting any with my old wheels on. Any suggestions why?

A wobble or shimmy? Theres a lot of tire shops that dont balance wheels correctly when they use stickon weights on the inside of tires.. It can also be a bad tire or warped rim so I suggest you take it back to have it redone.. They should be able to find problem..

What is the hub diameter of the replacement wheels. You may need hub adapter rings. The Tacoma is Hub Centric.

Even when properly balanced, my wheels will do this if I let someone with a pneumatic wrench do my tire rotation/ switch. I always have to loosen and retorque my wheels after the tire monkeys do anything to my truck.

    Hmmmm.....

I've had my 18" after market tires for a year with no problems. Last week, I took my Tacoma to a shop to replace the front brakes and rotors. Next thing I know, the steering wheel wobbles at 55 mph. I'm gonna try re-torquing the wheels before I fork out money for balancing and hub rings.

When I had new tires put on in May, I left the shop and had a severe steering wheel vibration over 50 mph. Went back to the shop, they did a re-balance, problem solved.

I even ran lug centric wheels for a couple years. If you're anal about mounting them properly, they're fine.

Recently installed new wheels and had same issue when I left the shop. Added hubcentric rings and problem was solved.

Balancing fixed it in my case. New wheels and tires had a wobble starting from 35mph. Took the dealer 3 times to fix it, finally an off road specific shop did it right.
