I'm jumping up and down for this

I would love to see what Matt could also do for a tow shifting tune

What fix is needed for the 87 tune? Did I miss something?

Matt said he'd give that option to those guys that didn't want peak performance ..... but wanted to run the cheap stuff ( it was a few weeks ago )
What fix is needed ? ........ just more of Matt's magic !

Hasn't the 87 octane thing been beaten to death already? People want the Tacoma to perform better, yet still run the lowest octane gas? Personally, I just wouldn't, but then again I only run premium in all of my vehicles.

This was me - felt like it was leaning out on 1.02b. 1.01b rocks for my truck - remaining piece is the shifting refinements Mat's working on

    Ah..

I was reading that as he had the 87 tune but there was a problem with it.

No I'm fully aware about waiting on 87. It's what I'm going to run.

I think there are some people who would like to run 87 octane. But have the option to change to a 91 octane tune for when they are towing a trailer.

Or 87 for every-day commutes etc., driving for work where I would lose money buying 91...

and 91 for TRACK DAY, BRO!

No problems with 87 tune, just haven't released to the masses yet. I understand some people are waiting for it, I really want to get the shifting down and have a complete, well rounded tune for 87 and 91.

In other news, a few trucks are running our shift adjustment changes with very positive results. Still ripping apart some shift data, but it looks like we're going to have a very, very nice shift update for everyone.

    updated OP. Cleaned up information.

@OVTune , I reread the OP and product page and did not see data logging anymore. Does this mean you will only be offering off-the-shelf tunes now? What does "custom tunes" mean in your product page, is it 2 or 3 different tunes or individual custom tunes based on data logs?

I'll be removing my tune until he gets a stock MT on the dyno. I'm not all that fussy about the misfires and stutters under load, and I'm towing my travel trailer 3000kms this week. On the off chance it could be hazardous I would rather not risk it while on the road. So stock it will be until the MT tune is sorted out.

At least if it blows up with stock tuning it will be Toyota's problem lol.

    Just curious...
Those of us waiting to get our kits
(#2034) will it be coming with the new shift updates. I'm in no hurry and would be happy to wait for refinements...
Seems the more time he has the better it's getting...!!

The kit is nothing more than a cable and dongle.

Matt will send you the file he has completed once you send him your ECU data. So if it takes 2 weeks for you to send him your file, he'll send you the most up to date file.
