If you aren't pushing the truck hard off road you will be fine. The trend seems to be with the LT rating, though for the vast majority of us, a tire of that build is overkill. For the guys who drive lease roads on a daily basis or wheel their trucks hard, the LT is justified, but most of us don't fall into that category.

Just be mindful to take things easy when you do get off the pavement and you shouldn't have problems. Many 1/2 ton trucks come from the factory with P or SL tires.

So I did a thing today. Put on some 285/75/16 wildpeaks and love the new look they gave to the truck. Will post updates as I put some miles on them

First tire rotation at 10,000 miles of terribly abusive driving, including a 45 minute emergency response driving over the tire's speed rating. I think I'll get at least 30k out of them before they don't meet patrol rating anymore, which will be very impressive.

Waiting to get the Falkens installed right now. Replacing a set of Toyo AT2s. I hope the Falken's are better in the rain than the Toyos were after they had worn some.

Ordered mine through DTD Saturday, got them Tuesday, mounted them Friday. These are much quieter than the Falkens I had on my '02 4Runner 4 years ago. Very solid feeling tire.

    265/75/17 P rated AT3. About $560 shipped. Another $70 to mount and balance through a friend's shop.

This thread helped me pull the trigger on these. I was debating on the KO2, but glad I saved myself $500 on a great set of tires. Just in time for the Salt City Snow Bonanza.

So this is for the 3rd gen guys running a p26570r17.. how much gas mileage did you lose and power loss with this heavier tire. I have the cooper at3 in that size and it drives great, no power loss 17 mpg street 20 mpg on highway but that tire is almost a half inch smaller and it's 5 lbs lighter. I don't like the look of the coopers and have a slight vibration at 70 so I'm thinking of swapping them out for these. I don't want a significant mileage or power loss though.

Man, I love the stance of it. But it's not practical for prerunning is it?

Got mine on a month or so ago and love them so far. Look great, ride great, quiet, I hear they wear well, and they were priced right! 285-75/16s that I definitely had to trim to fit, and they still rub. Need a little more height, which will come soon when I re-valve the fronts I'll dial them up a little and add a rear AAL pack.

More lift won't help. You either need to trim/ bash more/ change backspacing via new wheels or spacers/ or both.

Yup, done all that, working out the last bits of rubbing. Wasn't meaning height would fix the problem, just saying, in general, wanted it a bit higher with these bigger tires. Will also re-align when I do, and have them try to adjust it to the proper specs to help that out a little as well.
