I wanna change all of the fluids and add breather mods. I should probably change my air filters too now that I think about it.

 

Thanks! I'm working on it now but it is slow goings. I'm coming down with a cold or something right now which isn't helping.

I forget if you've got a garage or not but can you build a hoist in your garage? That way it's easier to get it on and off?

I had plans to build a hoist for my old truck. I'm so torn on cap or no cap. The tonneau that came with the truck definitely has its advantages but you really can't use the first 1/3 of the bed. The cap limits heights and one of the big uses for my truck is moving my snowblower to my Mom's which is easier with the tonneau and bed extended. I had a large hitch basket for the 13 with the cap but I didn't really like it.

 

Ah okay that stuff isn't too bad. Don't forget gloves for the gear oil

Bummer man, that's no fun. Especially now when you have to take care of someone else 24/7. Try to get some rest and feel better. You can't take care of them if you don't take care of yourself.

 

That's what I'm trying to do. She has been fighting us sleeping. She doesn't like sleeping flat on her back. We've got a Rock-n-Play that will give us a few hours here and there but right now she seems to wake up at night and sleep all day.

The wife sleeps from 8 or 9 til midnight and then handles the night feeding. I try and sleep midnight to 5:45 or so.

 

Have you guys tried putting her on her side? We did that with my two, and seemed to work. We also used one of those velcro swaddle things, and I would swaddle them myself as well, but had to be nice and tight, and it did the trick. They told us that being nice and snug reminded them of being in the womb, so it would help them sleep. Also, a bit of noise constantly in the background.

 

60k miles would be a fair amount of material. As long as there are no big chunks it's normal.

If it was never done before then no its not bad normal break in I'd change again in a shorter interval (while your still under warranty) see if it is significantly less if it is your 100% all set

 

Morning all. Anyone else do the Killington Beast this weekend? I still feel like I got hit by a truck, that was definitely no joke but I'm pretty sure I was smiling the whole time. Even the damn Death March, which is arguably one of the most horrible things a person can voluntarily put themselves through, was pretty damn fun. Finished top ~30% in the open division. Pretty pleased with minimal running besides fitness cult. 2 of my buddies who Iran it with absolutely crushed it with 5:18 and 5:22. Next year my goal is sub 6 hours.

Nice job Seth, you just put out more exercise in one day than most of us in here do in a whole month!

 

I did mine at 100k and it doesn't sound all that different. A thin coating of very fine metal shavings (almost like dust) and one shard that was still pretty small. But, mine was done at ~55k by the previous owner.

 

Awesome job! Definitely on my list, maybe in the next few years. That was to complete your trifecta for the year, right?

 

Thanks. Ya for me it was to complete the trifecta. It's definitely not a race to take lightly. Lots of dnfs. Carrying heavy shit up double black diamonds, a 1mile climb up a double black with the shallowest portion at 45 deg, swimming a few hundred yards in 50 deg water with rope climb, rope swinging obstacles in the middle etc...

 

I have a garage but it's not big enough for the truck. I've thought about making something outside that would allow me to get the cap off but I'm afraid that the more times I try to move it, eventually I'm going to drop it. The hitch basket doesn't work because I tow the camper on vacations. I'm finding more creative ways to put things on the camper when we travel which has helped. It's just recently with all the yardwork that I wish I had the open bed. Now that it's pretty much done, I don't think it'll be an issue.

The Diamondback cover I referenced would allow me to bring my motorcycle on vacations with the camper in tow.

Swaddling is a preference thing for the baby. My oldest hated having his arms in. If you kept his arms free, he was happy and would sleep all night but if you tucked them in the swaddle, he would fight you and scream until he was free again. My youngest hated the swaddle altogether. Didn't matter how you did it, he hated it.

Try noisemakers also. The white noise machines can really help if all else fails.
