    A thing or two...
Last weekend while I was installing my new bumper, I noticed some pink crud dried on the lower front of the engine, steering rack, and AC hard lines. There wasn't a lot of it, but I'm thinking I might have a slight leak at the water pump. I'm planning on cleaning it off this weekend to see if it comes back. If the pump does need replacing I can get one off RockAuto for about $50 with the gasket.

Are there any other parts that I would need? Mounting bolts? Pulley? Tensioners? Idlers?

My trucks at 109k miles now. I replaced the upper/lower radiator hoses, thermostat, and flushed the coolant back in January.

Check the black pipe coming from the thermostat housing to up above the starter it's a know issue for 2.7, mine has a crack leaks antifreeze on the steering rack. The pipe runs behind the intake manifold to the heater hoses.

Also a Toyota water pump is $120. Most likely is built better than a rock Auto one.

Thanks. I've read about that crap plastic coolant pipe. I'd forgotten about that being a possibility.

An Aisin pump from RockAuto is under $50, and they make the OE pumps for Toyota. A factory pump is $88 from other online sources.

Could you just knock the bearing out of the pulleys and put in new bearings?

Yes but I had to get the truck back up that day. Also not a common bearing size so no one had them. Good fucking question sir.

My water pump was replaced under warranty back at 60,000 miles. The truck has 165,000 on it now. I've considered getting a new pump so it's sitting here when this one goes but I would never consider anything other than a factory part as much of a PIA it looks like it is to replace it. Aisin may make the water pump at Rock Auto but is it "really" the same quality pump as a factory pump? I don't know but many huge manufacturers of car parts have different levels of quality depending on who they are making it for.

I'm right around the same mileage as you. How did you know your pulleys were bad. None of mine make noise.

I had no noise while engine running or anything. When I took off the serpentine belt and spun them in my hand I could feel the bearings weren't doing well.
