I have one already loaded with grease. I'll be at Davids tomorrow if you want to swing by and we can knock it out in a few minutes.

winch would have been faster if the damn thing would have worked properly (spooled or not, it wouldnt engage)

yea I had that exact winch on my JK.... I wasnt happy with the quality of the synthetic line after using it a few times.... so I usually stick w/ steel cable.... but who knows.... I might end up just trying it one more time....

totallllllllllllllly not me.....haha ask the guys from the mod day, I'm "anal" about nuts and bolts.

Ziploc baggy and a sharpy was my best friend

no worries dude, I'll just order some... hazards of modding when youre tired. haha

nice man! your truck is really coming along nicely!

I read the first 12 words of this post and KNEW I'd be tagged in it before I even saw the notification......

so stuff I still need to do in the next week or 2:
    take mud flaps off
    install skid plate
    install sliders
    install rear shocks
    install rear AAL
    get CMC done
    get alignment done

    next: (within the next month)
    install Icons
notch the grill so it doesnt rub on the winch control box
    order snorkel / install snorkel
get new hardware for the Mobtown tailgate cap / reinforcement

    busy busy busy....

how's everyone elses Tuesday morning going?

not necessarily. Just hook and reverse. Not find the remote, plug it in, figure out forward/backward controls etc. I would use a winch for self recovery, not towing

All depends how they're stuck IMO. Stuck in mud? Yank em out with a strap. Can't get over some rocks and they don't have a winch? Pull them up slowly so nothing breaks. A snatch strap will get you out of a lot of stuff though.

hindsight being 20/ 20 (and not sure why I didnt do this, I used to ALWAYS do this, but at the start of the trail when I was airing down, I usually go ahead and get my winch remote plugged in and ready....

but for a small recovery like that, it should have been:

    1. reel winch line out to you (since it's already in neutral)
    2. hook up to your D ring
    3. engage clutch on winch
    4. press button on winch

    total time: 2 minutes haha

    oh well... lesson learned.

no I dont. @HolyHandGrenade does. I think he got it from Tom Woods.

I have an OE replacement one. Got it for $600 shipped. Let me know if you want me to look for the website. I still need to get my OEM one repaired, but it sucks that the place where everyone went, is only located in Baltimore.

I'm pretty sure there's a website you can send measurements to, and they'll make a custom driveshaft and mail it to you for around $550. Let me see if I can find it.

I've found the cheapest place to get the hose is Lowes. 10' roll doesn't cost much at all.
