I did not remove the plastic cover. I cleaned the cover while still installed. I did the best that I can. I think it worked out awesome, it looked brand new. This was on my 2014, I have since upgraded to my 2017.

    Bright stuff
Pistol Pete's recommendation is what I use of all my cars and now this piece. I first stated using it on my Boxster rear Window and now 911 plastic, It works wonders and leaves no reside, for bigger scratches, use any of the plastic polishes or 3M makes both a cleaner and polish that have served my well over the years.

Anyone remove the dash components? I'd like to paint some and replace the neoprene pieces w Leather at least in the front of my DCSB Sport.

any issues with rattling or any other sounds coming from the dash after reinstalling? i was experiencing a rattle on the first (used) third gen i owned. i brought it in for the diff. recall and had them try to address it. after the second trip back to the dealer, we discovered the cluster was opened by the original owner, then the foreman explained that this voided factory warranty and they're no longer responsible. since then I've gotten a new truck, tried my best to keep the new "shitty" plastic scratch free and have failed miserably. now i don't care and just enjoy the truck.

Maybe slightly off topic, but thought I'd start here since its an issue I seem to be having...When I drive at night, I seem to get a ridiculous glare from the bright blue gauges on my drivers side window, and it seems to be right at the point where it sort of takes away from my view and its distracting. Just wondering if anyone has noticed this or not. Thanks!

Dealer washed/vacuumed my truck during service and wiped it with a dirty rag. Scratched to absolute shit and they are trying to say it was me. AND when I asked for them to supply me with the part to do it myself told me I have to replace the whole cluster with my ODO starting at 0.

Cant believe the bs I've been fed over this lol.

I'd straight up ask me dealer if he is completely incompetent, or totally trying to rip me off because its one of the 2.

Oh man. Sorry to see that. Mine looked similar after the initial dealer prep. I pulled the radio and gauge cluster trim and used Griot’s plastic polish. Directions on the bottle. It worked really well. Nearly new unless the light was just perfect. You can save this but the dealer sucks. Good luck!

Just wiped my gauge cluster with a napkin because of some dust... It looks like absolute shite now. :frusty:

This thread should be stickied, and the cluster should come with a warning to NEVER TOUCH IT.

Or Toyota should use more quality materials for their interior. They have never been know for their interiors though. Still not an excuse.

Hell, I'd say order me the odo with zero miles on it then. They won't because they can't. They must be set before leaving the factory. My was replaced under TSB and had to be shipped with same mileage. Huge problem for them if they didn't.
