Yep it came off a 90's 1st gen regular cab. I don't find the gap very noticeable and for $100 I could care less. It's all about what flaws you're willing to accept and what you consider a deal breaker I suppose. Here's the only other photo of it I have ATM.

What did you end up using as your actual rack (cross bars)?

@IronPeak has a list of parts that'll save you money as opposed to the whole kit.

Yeah I wish your shell was cab height. If it was I'd be all over it, but the way it is now I'd be soooooo tall.

Be glad you don't have a pop-up camper back there. That's the primary reason I'm looking at getting an aluminum shell. Much lighter. Wish you were closer to CA but I'm also wanting some windows if I'm sleeping back there. Gotta see what's outside.

I have slept there, before my RTT came. Zip tied a bug net to the skeleton. It was an ok setup, but i had to unload everything from my bed..

How much stuff do you store back there? There are always pros/cons. With the camper I do have to unload some things but don't have to totally gut it to get the sleeping platform pulled out. This is the summer load out missing the fire tote which contains my firewood. Also no heater. Summer requires extra water for cleaning though.
