i took the unholy mount with the diamond plate, extender arm, and another diamond plate and glued the scosche magnetic phone mount to it. i didn't like the regular phone holder that comes with the unholy mount and ram attachments so i made my own, i took the scosche magnetic mount cut the ball head off of it and filed it down till it was a flat surface on the back so the epoxy would hold. it works really nicely has never fallen off and i even managed to keep the little clip to hold the wire in place :)

here are some links if you want to do it also

JUST BUY THE VENT RING ONLY

    BUY TWO OF THESE

    BUY ONE OF THESE

    BUY ONE OF THESE
    https://www.amazon.com/Scosche-MAGD...937&sr=1-1-spell&keywords=scorshe+phone+mount

take apart the magnetic mount from the base plate sticker theyll be an arm with a ball on the end of it cut that off as close as you can to the actual magnet and file it down till you have a flat surface, it was really easy i did it with a pair of scissors and a $1 file... took like 10 minutes and cramped my arm though lol.

Epoxy/glue the mount to the diamond plate and put it all together.

    Enjoy!!!!

the full unholey mount with their phone holder and everything is like $110 so you're saving money and they way i look at it is its the only thing thats really secure without having to stick any stickers to your car, it was worth it to me.

If anyone is going to spend over $70 on a phone mount that still has to be Macgyvered, I'm sure they have the coin to spend $110 for the real deal.

I didn't like how there phone mount worked or looked, its significantly bigger and isn't as easy as a magnet, i wanted it to be magnetic so thats exactly what i did. if you don't like it you can always not do it! i saved $40 and did something original to my truck what a thought!

I didn't say it wasn't creative, and your right, I just won't do it. I also wont spend $110 either. I am commenting on your post, welcome to TW.

got it, so in summary, you holder is: 1) cheaper 2) less bulky 3) magnetically connected. any other benefits?

thats about it really, not having to stick something to the dash was my number one priority and i hate suction cups on the windshield, i believe that magnetic mount company even has a mount that has QI charging so it could potentially be a wireless charging magnetic mount, but i didn't want to go through all that work of figuring out if it would be safe to cut and file that crap so i took the easy way out and just stuck with this.

I will put this company in as the best phone mount ever. My missing link to my motorcycle mount was this piece. https://sp-connect.com/collections/motorbike/products/ballhead-mount
They are also go pro compatible mounts. An insert snaps into it for the phone. The phone case is top notch, adds very little thickness, and is the most secure mount I have ever used and I've tried several. It is also the least obtrusive when the phone is not on it (minus op magnet but far less noticeable than the x-grips). I don't know them personally but I can't recommend them enough. Browse the site and check out all the options. Only downside is you have to have an iphone or samsung for now.

DAMNNNNN those are really cool, i wanted it to be magnetic since its in my car just because its easier but for a motorcycle that clip in design is literally perfect <3

It was literally a "holy sh$t, that's it" moment when I came across it. Phone has done thousands of miles and I've never worried about it not being secure.
