I thought it would be more honestly....I don't trust my self to do it or a shop in my area that would charge more than 160.

So far we have done the ECGS bushing and replaced seal on mine, orlandos, chris, soon my wife's 4Runner, and it came preinstalled on the front diffs for Warren and Jake. So basically just have to do two more installs. All have been great and it's good piece of mind.

You never know when this issue might pop up. My truck has been lifted for about 15000 miles without issue. The rumble strip vibration started the other day. Super annoying and Im on month long road trip and wont be back home to fix it till october. :annoyed:
Wish I just did it when i lifted it...

A little Hi-Jack here but what part of Va are you in. I was about to order 3 bushings and the removal tool.

Chesapeake but I do get to richmond at times, my son is at VCU.

Not sure when I'll be back up there anytime soon but I can bring the insertion and extraction tools the next time I'm up unless you want to meet at the half way point some time this weekend.

We'll pm the details but you can borrow the tools, just send them back to me when you're done.

The concert is at the VA Beach Amphitheater right? We can pick a location near there Friday night or if easier, a different place Saturday morning.

I'll piggy back off this thread while it's hot. Installed my lift Sunday. I have a super minor vibration below 35mph in the steering wheel, is this an early warning sign? Just something I can feel, nothing visual in the wheel. No problems anywhere else in the spectrum between 35-68, haven't gone over 68 yet. I went up about 2.5" in the front on OME 90000 with 886s. I also haven't dropped my carrier barring to be completely honest.

Carrier Bearing only takes 10 minutes. Just two bolts. See if that helps.

If not, probably the needle bearing.

So, if you pick up the vibration, does the shaft need to be replaced along with the bushing? Or will the bushing alone cure the issue?

Bushing unless the CV shaft is too damaged.

Just did mine with 2600 miles on the truck when I upgraded the suspension. With the number of people reporting vibrations, I wasn't going to take the chance it would all be okay only to find out that I'd have to pull everything I just installed. Or live with vibration issues on a brand new truck.

If you buy their tool, I highly recommend putting the pulling end on the grinder to angle the outer edge.

    20170916_224645.jpg

I dicked with it for 10 minutes trying to get it in, and it just would not wedge in there between needle bearing and carrier. I finally threw it on the grinder to bevel the edges a bit. Snicked right into place on first attempt after that.

I did mine as well at the same time I did my lift. In my opinion, well worth the extra 30min and 60 bucks to prevent having to take it back apart again. I didn't buy the tool, ended up making one out of a 6.0 power stroke headbolt and some angle iron. It's hideous but it worked!
