Oh man. First the wipe down routine, now this. I didn't mark mine and now with my less than confident feelings about the dealer, I think going back to "get something" I left in the truck, and then crawling under it to paint pen the studs might be in order.

FWIW, all this talk of emailing Lentz does do something. When I call into the 800 number now, Tier 1 won't talk to me, says I need to be transferred to Executive Office. But they never answer. Best luck I've had is with the Regional Office. She's been fantastic to work with, and really the only reason I'm not more angry with the process.

But alas, still no date can be given...

Haha I wouldn't doubt it. But I know I was the only one in line and I work at the dealer. But I was a little skeptical myself like all of a sudden my truck is fixed now that it's traded in. No biggie I'm enjoying my new truck

Ok so my Toyota customer service case manager said all rear end recall parts have been released and if there is a wait now its because the dealership didn't put in the order. He's calling the dealership to get my truck done and throwing in an 8 year extended warranty. I chose not to go forward with the buyback.

My truck was on the recall list. I took it in yesterday and picked it up today. They said it was not leaking, but they retorqued the bolts.

I believe that it's not leaking, because I have not put very many miles on my truck. I bought it right after Christmas, and in the nine months since, I've only put 1,200 miles on it (don't laugh). I don't drive much, and my Tacoma is my second car.

So my concern is that I haven't driven my truck enough to get the leak to show up. Does it take a couple thousand miles before it starts to leak? I asked the guy who wrote up my ticket, and he said that if they were bad, they would start leaking right away. Not sure if I believe him. I also asked him if I should bring it back in a year after I get some more mileage on it, and he gave me a "sure, why not?" answer. I asked him if I would have to pay to have it looked at, and he said that they could bring it up with corporate. Geez -- I have to appeal to corporate just to look at it? He said that if I did bring it in later and it needed to be fixed, it would be covered by the basic warranty.

I just got my 2017 TRD off road LWB back from the dealership that was dropped off on 8/5/17. My truck wasn't on the recall list and according to the service guy mine was the first one they had seen leaking that was a 17' and not on the list. To make it even more tolerable they left the diff drain plug loose and I drove it about 100ish miles or so before i noticed the bungee cord dragging under it that they left from holding up the drive shaft so they could change the diff out. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have noticed it leaking for awhile. I drove it back to the dealership and the replaced it again because it was dry. I kinda feel bad for the guys truck that was next on the list but I wasn't going to leave my truck for another day because they screwed it up. Oh and by the way, it still whines between 50-55...
