What department do you work for at autoanything. I've used my employee discount a lot including a rtt winch wheels and other things. Mostly all my stuff I order from us. Need to start carrying fab stuff

Dude I know, we've started to carry more and more cool stuff for our trucks, but it's still not enough haha. It's tough though, the people who set up what parts we carry want items that will move fast vs the more enthusiast based parts which won't be "flying off the shelves" in a way. We keep growing every year so hopefully we'll carry things like fab parts and such!

I work in Operations, I'm apart of our sales team as the wheel and tire specialist.

 

It's great I love it. All the customers that come into my store wanting lifts and such I refer to the site. It still goes to Autozone so win win. Plus free shipping just like in the store.

How does one get a job for a place like AA, anyway?

 

Apply? Lol. I don't know all the inner workings, but we do everything internally. Marketing, advertising, data, catalog, merch, website development, and of course operations on my side of the building (I'm sure there are a lot more roles that I'm not aware of). So plenty of different areas to enter the company. We're one office in San Diego so you'd have quite the commute because I believe you're more northern/central CA correct?

I was actually recruited when I used to have my resume on some job site (monster or something along those lines).

Just curious since that other guy who works with AA is in Florida, and I know AA does a lot of drop shipment as opposed to warehousing for obvious reasons.

So figured they were largely web based, or at least positions were allowing out of office employees. Seems like a cool gig for a car person.

 

Back in 2012 we were acquired by AutoZone, so they now get employee pricing with us and us with them. Even being totally online we all have to work in office, we don't have anyone who works remote.
And yes, nearly everything is drop shipped from the manufacturer.
Definitely a cool gig! It's very enjoyable working with another enthusiast, but they're few and far between these days. It's shocking how many people don't even know basic information about their own vehicle.
