This thread is for upcoming Horse Pasture Road Runs for Upstate South Carolina and other members to participate in.

This is a mostly 2WD friendly road that our trucks can participate in, though some sections will require a rear locker or 4wd.

Horse Pasture Road is a seasonal road that is only open during certain times to allow wildlife to perform their duties and make more wildlife... And also hunting.

@Daria used to be the HPR queen before she left for AZ, and hopefully she will chime in here to correct my errors.

This is one of the better sites that has seasonal information.

    http://www.visitpickenscounty.com/vendor/1039/jumping-off-rock/

HPR seasonal road open dates are March 10 to May 20 and Sept. 15 to Jan. 15.

    Road/Gate Opening Date Closing Date

Horsepasture Road September 15 January 2

    March 27 May 2

*Standing Rock September 15 January 2

    March 27 May 2

Camp Adger September 15 January 2

    March 27 May 2

Cane Creek September 15 January 2

    March 27 May 2

Tater Hill September 15 March 2

    March 27 May 2

    Musterground September 15 January 2

Old Horsepasture Road Will be made available when road construction is complete.

    October 1 January 2

    * Note - Portions of the Standing Rock Road (Jackies Ridge Area) will be closed pending renovation, or relocation of Laurel Fork Road.

23rd for me would all depend on the time. Might ride to the beach with my dad. Completely open for the 24th though.

Meet at the Holly Springs Country Store at 178 and 11 on the 24th as close to noon as possible. Fuel up and get snacks and all that. We will try to hit HPR as close to 1 PM as possible depending on arrivals.

There may be camping on the 23rd, but no one one has committed yet.

Yeah, I have thought about going up there and just getting it back until the parts come in. Of course I just don't want them denying coverage "if" something happened.

Yeah true. A little waiting is better than having to pay out of pocket for something worse to happen.

That puts you out as trail leader, just to confirm? I can try to do it, but I'm kind of a slow poke. I'm always slowing down to look at shit before picking the pace back up.

    Any volunteers?
