Nope things lined up well - I only used 4 screws (top/bottom/sides). Not much bass comes from the rears as the low-end comes from the 6x9s so I didn't feel the need to be too OCD back there.

Got the tweeters hooked up last night. Took about an hour. But I had never done this before. Can someone refresh my memory as to whether I should place the adapters on the door before I screw in the speakers or vice versa?

Take the door speakers out. Set them on a bench. Assemble the new speakers and adapters so they look the same as the originals. Install. If new at this just do 1 speaker at a time.

Will save you from assembling upside down and having to take them back out. On my speaker adapters I had to open up the square hole a little so the wire adapters went in easier. Do this before you attach the speaker.

Did you have the issue of the screws being too long?

Not that I recall. I really cannot remember. I keep tons of hardware so I may have used different screws.

Got the Kicker tweeters installed, took less than 20 minutes. Door Kickers arrive tomorrow but already a significant improvement over stock.

YES - the screws with the mounts were too long, the screws with the speakers fit the mounts just fine for me and were shorter. I totally forgot about that piece as I used the long ones initially and couldn't get the speaker to fit properly and opted for the shorter ones

You want to mount the speaker to their mounts before bolting the mounts to the door, but either do what was suggested in laying them out so you can ensure you have the orientation properly or just do a quick check by lining up the mounts to the spot you'll place them in the door to make sure the holes are aligned. Either way just check before - not a huge deal, just a bit of prep ;)

I had some of those that were messed up when I took the door off. I had to replace one in three out of four doors. Not saying everyone will have that issue, but I would recommend having some extra just in case. You can tell they just pounded the door on during assembly and didn't care of some of the door clips got screwed up.

Just finished installing all 6 speakers. Posted some pics on my IG. Someone commented with:

"So you put a coax speaker in place of a component and still connected the tweeter in the dash? The tweets on the coax shouldn't be working because of the inline crossover before the mid(6x9)."

    Thoughts?

Speakers are all ordered and will be here Friday! Looks like my Saturday is booked up. Looking forward to getting rid of the crappy sounding stock speakers.

My reply to that statement would be duh WTF are you talking about. The stocks are not what would be called component speakers. Mine sound freekin awesome by simply swapping to 3 way s front coaxial rear and dash tweeters. Crossover smoshover.

I think he's correct...that the 3 way 6x9 are not utilizing the tweeters and at best are producing low and mids due to the head unit or other crossover only feeding those frequencies...which is why I was thinking a 2 way would be better but at the price point probably doesn't really make much of a difference.
