I was merely commenting that they can "only help at low speed" which is not true, and I still stand by my original statement that these are designed primarily for high speed applications. The large panel louvers you see on Jeeps are more for low speed applications, but either way they will certainly help. I'll also use this comment to add that these will not interfere with a K&N cold air intake system either, which was one other criteria to my selection.

IT IS TRUE! Gahhh large or small panels are still at the basic principles of thermal dynamics that heat rises, heat will inevitably rise from your hood, no matter where you put the louver. If you are getting that serious with this louver thing are you going to wind tunel your truck and map your high and low wind density areas to fully capitalise on vacuum do to high volume wind pulls over your hood or just where ever it looks good? Just for further proof that little panels help at stop here is a short product video or heat rising out of a stopped car. (That you are standing by your original comment of not working) https://youtu.be/ECE0QHzWFu0

I never said they would not work at low speed, I believe I said "more" benefits at higher speed. Whatever the case, my louvers are going to be awesome and the envy of every Sport hood owner out there. :)

Given the previous design supercharger still pulled air from a box, your fake hood scoop will probably remain a fake hood scoop. But what do I know, I'm just a dumb contractor. Louvers would help keep that thing cool though :)

I just ordered the parts yesterday, so you're going to have to be patient. Not only that, I'm in the midst of building a front porch on my house and preparing for an elk hunt in October, so it could be awhile.

Are you going to cut your hood open for that? You know your hood scoop is just for looks, it doesn't actually flow any air right?

I say you go crazy OP and do the early hood vent on Subaru's WRC cars, obviously would need to create ducting from radiator to vent but could look wild!

I would have loved a large single louver in the center, but open your hood and you'll see the issue. I'm not willing to risk the integrity of my hood by cutting through the bracing (many have successfully done this however). The Corvette package that I posted a pic of earlier would have been awesome. The actual hole size for these is only 4" wide and the bracing runs parallel with the hood, so you could even go longer than 24". I'm still cutting through some minor cross bracing with these, but since the louvers are pretty heavy gauge aluminum they should act as stiffeners.
