    @G.T.

    Hey, you said you were going to do the Shackle Flip first and then do Shock Mount Relocate?

    Any reason that should be in that order instead of Shock Mount Relocate and then Shackle Flip?

    Or may try and do both at the same time, just not sure how all that works and such in terms of layout...

    Also not sure if I will need to get different Leafs instead of the OME.

    @hoarder23 any input on this?

    I'm not one for a laundry list of simultaneous change. One step at a time helps prevent me from myself.

    I would do them both at the same time because you can pull the bed once and have so much room for activities.

    But I also see @G.T. point, if you mess one up you have to check a bunch of stuff to find the cause.

    The shackle flip is a pretty straightforward mod, cut off old mounts, bolt on new ones but you need to make sure you adjust it properly to make sure you don't invert a shackle while cycling your rear.

    The relocate if done improperly will severely limit your travel and you won't see the gains you paid for. It needs to be tacked on, tested, moved as required and then permanently welded. Not an OEM replacement, requires mechanical expertise.

    Thanks for the rundown. That's exactly what I was looking for. I did attend Jambo last year. It was my first year and I was so impressed it got me curious about other events out east. I'll keep ATR on my radar, but I'll probably skip next year and return to jambo. Some year I'll make it out to ATR and the other eastern parks.

    Barnwell did feel small at first compared to out here, but after some time on the trails I realized it's my preferred layout. Shorter, more technical stuff is my preference so it let me skip the hours of fireroads id need to travel over back in AZ.

    Jambo was incredibly well run and the people were really friendly. The drive was rough, but that will be forgotten by the time next year rolls around.

    Yea, I hear you on that.

    Well I do not know much about the relocate, so having someone that is mechanically better than me that knows what is going on will help.

    Hoping that I can get a few good men to help with this swap as well, and figure out where to actually do the swap at....

    Talked to Dynatrac last night and they are just now going to final build on the axle, so they said they can leave the shock mounts off it and just have the axle tubes primed and not finished as far as paint goes.

    Now to decide today if I want to do it that way and commit to doing the shock relocate or not on the truck. If not, it would just come ready to go in the truck and I would then reuse the shocks that are on the truck now, or just upgrade those as well instead of the OME shocks and go ahead and do the shackle flip on it.

    Right now, I am thinking to just put it in the truck with the stock mounting stuff and then maybe upgrade the rear shocks and then down the road look at doing LT on it, only other thing to upgrade right now would be to do ubolt flip.

    Yea, that is what is good about Barnwell, don't have to take a ton of regular roads to get to the trails and there are trails for everyone, I like more of the technical, but it is nice to do some of the easier stuff to start out with and then get into the technical stuff.

    I went to Barnwell over July 4th weekend and did some trails that I had not done before which was nice, trying to not to break something is my goal at the moment, once the upgrade to the truck happens, will be trying some of the more technical stuff out there that may need winching and stuff....

    Steven, how are the EBC brakes working out for you? It is (past) time for mine to be replaced and am going to order some soon. What color pads did you go with again? Slotted or smooth rotors? Autoanything or Amazon?

    They have been working great for me! Stopping power is great and did really well on my trip to TN.

    I did the Green Stuff Pads, Smooth Rotors, and I got them both from AutoAnything.

    I did not do the slotted as I did not want mud and stuff to get in them just FYI.

    Also, before you purchase from AutoAnything, just get on their chat and see if they have any deals for EBC before you purchase. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

    Sounds good.

    Right now, not going to do the relocate, just going to get the rear end in the truck, wheel with it a little bit, and maybe down the road do chevy 63 swap with relocate and all that.

    Just going to worry about getting the new rear put in and go ahead and do ubolt flip, finally install the extended brake lines I have, and go up to some 34" tires.

    Right now, starting the planning of the regear and locker for the front end as that will have to be done. As long as I have 4x4 by Jambo 2018... then I will be happy.

    Limb Risers....

    Yes or No?

    I have a pretty good idea/plan for building a set for the truck. Should be around $30.00 or so....

    True.... but need to make sure no limbs or anything hit the windshield when I am in the parking lot of the local mall.

    Have a great idea, maybe look out of the large piece of clear glass mounted in front of the driver's seat and avoid driving into trees.
