Haha nice man, Im contemplating those golds and reached out to Vin to see if he forecasts any of those down the road. I know he had an order of them not long ago, but they don't seem to commonly hit the rotation it seems.

I believe they were sold locally, but I could be wrong.

I don't know why they only make such a limited stock if they go so fast. i dont have access to a computer and have to do everything on mobile with bad service. Theyre missing out on paying customers by not doing this.

I know this has been reiterated before, but I think the majority of the issue is they just don't have enough time to make massive amounts. They have tried in the past to fulfill orders, but when they did that it would be an excesively long list and many would give up if they didn't get their wheels in a few months. Because of this, many would preorder and then eventually get something else, but I think Vin just didn't see a solid process this way with a lot of complaints on wait times. I think if the factories he employs could get 2-3x more product in a month, then he would likely sell more. At this point, he waits until a minimum number of wheels in assorted colors is available and then sends them out as soon as possible. They also have to go through a customs portion which can delay stuff as well which doesn't help in his forecasting.

The best thing that could happen is if Vin made a new design to offer up...that way we would get a chance to preorder the first batch of it and it would steal some of the attention of the rays. I don't like the process for these wheels any better than you do, but given the experience Vin has had leading up to this process, I cant fault him. Many folks here arnt as patient when it comes to hot items such as this as you or me might think.

I understand that manufacturing always takes time to catch up with demand... look at what happened with rimfire ammunition. Large demand and yet the manufacturers took years to increase production. As a business they have to weigh the risk increasing production and then sitting on inventory vs being perpetually out of stock.

Just from this thread, SCS seems to be missing on lots of revenue with people wanting to give them money and yet they have no product available... worst case scenario for a company unless they are trying to create a bigger hype. Personally, when a company doesn't have what I want to pay for, I find another one who is willing to take my money. At this point, that's probably what I'll end up doing on upgrading my wheels.

I ordered a set of 16x8 matte gray ray 10s so I could post about it here, that and matte bronze was sold out, and brushed bronze wasn't offered.

I think I will like the light finish, and won't like cleaning the spokes.

    Yawn...
Similar thoughts here. We all see the shipments come out every few months in very limited quantities, but I'm in no rush. It's a Yota! She's not dying anytime soon unless she's totaled.

I could very easily purchase a set of wheels from a bigger company. However, these wheels are more exclusive: having a very unique look everywhere it goes.

After all, it is about appearance. Vanity isn't a necessity.

For all the people saying they are choosing a brand because of the slow flow: thanks for increasing my chances!

I would of been right there with you if they had those in 17s. Is it safe to say the matte gray is the least desired color of the rays? Could be good news for me.

Agreed man, if a new set of wheels that look more appealing than the rays come out then I will bail on these. Just currently, they are my fav look. I have no loyalty to SCS or any manufacturer for that matter.

I like the color of the factory silver factory steel wheels that's why I like the matte gray. I will probably mount 265/75 K02s and run these in the spring. The 17s look better than 16s, wider and fit the latter 4runners stating the obvious.

Wheel options is why people buy Toyota trucks.

I want 17s so I can throw on some runner brake rotors to help for when I go with 35s or else I would stick with 16s.

I've never seen the ray10s in stock at the local dealerships. They were waiting the same time as we were, although I'm sure they get their shipment guaranteed. I did see a set of gunmetal ray10s mounted on a new 4runner at the dealer, wonder if I could have asked if they would sell them to me right there.

Ah, 2 of the 9 authorized dealers are next to me, including my toyota dealership!
