buying all the parts needed is only slightly an issue here...
finding someone who can reliably install everything, with and or for me, that is the bigger issue!!!
my local mechanic who does my alignments, who has also been doing the majority of my maintenance now, as I do not have a space currently with my tools in storage and needing to daily drive the tacoma.... Is somewhat hesitant taking on this custom project install that is fj twin stick, fj tube and possible taco box....

I almost bought the 4' one for the truck. Then, I took out my tape and thought "hard rain on the trail, grill, me, Karen, a couple of chairs, some other goons trying to crowd in..." lol.

I think, for the way we we will use it, the 2000 is perfect. The 2500 is great for the trailer. Cumbersome on the trail though.

Yup. Just like any other mod. Not a matter of who's right or wrong. It's a matter of what the use will be

@uurx Ant offered to help with mine. Since he was the one who actually figured out the FJ tube swap, I was going to take him up on the offer.

Our schedules didn't mesh, so I just did it myself. BUT, If you're going to pay someone, I'd say he's a good guy to give the money to.

If he's willing to do it anyway. I don't have his info and he's banned from here, but Hunter can probably facilitate a convo.

You will be hard-pressed to find a shop that has experience with doing all of that.
Which four? He did his with Barry and then we did mine. Who are the other two?
Realistically you are looking at a solid chunk of time to do everything for this modification and that is getting all of the parts together before hand.
Granted, my set up is a little bit different than some of the others that are out there but mine took several months to wrap up fully.
Due to the very custom nature of this modification it is much better to DIY in my opinion.

The nice thing about doing the FJ tube along with the twin stick conversion is the fact that you will not have to deal with all of the ADD switch wiring.
I'm sure we could con Ant into helping and I'd also be happy to assist.
The real trick is getting all of the parts together properly. That includes custom length driveshafts if you intend to do the crawl box.
I will say this: it is hands-down the most amazing modification that I've taken on.

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking. I already had the T-case in and was never planning a crawl box.

It was the FJ tube and the front end gussetting that Ant offered to help with.

Ant was not involved with executing that build. Ryan stopped by while Barry & Ant were doing Ants install, that's it.
