Who Wants to Test a DECKED Storage System for Tacoma World?

Would love to test this product. I am a paramedic/pre med student in the beautiful NC mountains. Would use this every day and weekend to hold all of my fly fishing gear and to use to haul my other student peers supplies as we travel all over the state of NC,SC, and TN for clinical shifts. Would also use as a comfy sleeping platform as I will have to sleep in my truck some nights after clinical shifts. Thanks for putting this on!

 

I would love to test a Decked system installed on my 2015 Tacoma Access Cab 4x4.


I have always owned a pickup and have looked at various storage systems over the years, but could never find one that truly met my needs. When I purchased my Tacoma, I contacted Decked only to learn that they didn't have a product for the Tacoma. I am pleased they have introduced a product for the mid-size truck market.


Besides being my daily driver, I mainly use my Tacoma for camping. I tow a vintage 1984 UHaul camper. Yes, a UHaul camper. The camper is fantastic, except it lacks sufficient storage space. So I end up carrying a lot of stuff in the bed of the Tacoma. Hence my dilemma. I want a system that lets me store items, but which can be easily accessible (drawers) and still be robust enough to load coolers, propane tanks, chairs, firewood... Well, you get the idea.


I believe the Decked system meets those needs.

Update:
After seeing the other entries for a free Decked system for the Tacoma, I decided I needed to up my game. So I must resort to shameless techniques. Although I don't have kids, I have the next best thing..... dogs wearing Decked caps.

I could review the product from the perspective of the non off road truck driver. I don’t take my truck off road, actually just took the truck camping the first time this week. Occasionally I haul things from the hardware store to home. I take my nephews to the park with their bikes. You will have no problem finding the hardcore truck driver on this forum that’s extremely handy in the garage. What I would offer is the perspective from the average person with average handyman skills. My review would be honest and unbiased. I’m not even sure I’m the right person for this product, but it would speak great volume to your product if my initial thought of "what the heck am i going to do with this" changes to "why doesn’t everyone have this". I browse the forum often, so i would have no issues answering and updating other members. If you pick me or don’t pick me, this is a great opportunity for a forum member and a company to showcase their product.

2. Tell us how you use your truck and why you would be the perfect match for this project

I use my Tacoma for a wide variety of truck tasks including camping, backpacking, driving to remote trailheads, shooting trips, hauling stuff, hauling boy scouts, exploring trails, and committing.

Currently I'm packing my gear in totes under either my Softopper or my factory tonneau cover for most tips. It would be nice to have secure storage under my softopper to keep items out of sight when parked overnight at trailheads, or to secure my work laptop if I need to stop at a store on my way home from work.

I'm an engineer with a background in user interface design, usability testing, and technical writing. I would enjoy the opportunity to test and evaluate how the DECKED storage system could help organize and simplify all of the ways I'm using my truck.

I'd love to test this out for you. Just bought my 1st gen. Tacoma today and could use your system perfectly.
I am a general contractor and would use your system on a day in day out as storage for my everyday tools.
I had planned on buying a system for my Tundra before it was totaled out. Super stoked to see it becoming available for the Tacoma.

I would be perfect for this! I use my truck almost every weekend to go camping, hot springing, dirt biking, etc. That all involves bringing a bunch of crap along that gets thrown into bins that slide to the back of the bed. Then I have to climb my fat self into the bed under the tonneau cover to grab it.

I've been waiting for you guys to come out with these for Tacomas for a while now. I love how they're fairly lightweight yet they also form fit the entire bed unlike other drawer systems that are just a drawer sitting in the middle of the bed.

I would be willing to test the heck out of this. I am a swimming pool technician and use my truck for work. Storage is a issue when it comes to certain tools. I already run and maintain a couple of threads. Some more than others.
Can do video install and answer question as requested as well as post all the photos.

The use of the Decked drawer systems in my tacoma would be an amazing addition to the truck that would bring the truck to the next level with the storage to handle the weekend worrier jobs and still hold all my gear to go play in the mountains afterwords knowing where all my gear is!
I could see using this during the weekends at the ranch holding tools while mending the cattle fences, to getting out to the range for some fun!
To expedition trips across the country

 

Would definitely be able to put your product through some real testing and exposure as I continually refine my storage and camping needs

 

I can be your cold weather huckleberry if you want to someday be able to put "Alaska Tough" on the side of your product and gen 2s are eligible. I am an RN in home health; I take care of people who aren't quite sick enough to be hospital inpatients, but not quite well enough to go see their regular doctor either. My 2015 Access cab is chock full of bandage supplies and alcohol wipes and other really gross stuff. When I have to be there, weather is no excuse for not being there. My toolbox in the bed is jam packed with snowshoes, poles, chainsaw, jumper cables, jet boil and a couple meals, I could easily fill a deck system.

 

Wow this would be rad! Would love to test the product. Used to be my daily but now I have another car for commuting, so my truck is reserved for all the fun!!
Shooting, camping, beach days, offroading, some type of board sport!! Used to have to haul all my fire gear in there for working station to station, but now that it’s not the daily driver Ima change the setup. My hard cap tonneau is first to go so I would love to test this out and give my two cents, respectfully and professionally.

I think I'd be a perfect candidate for this opportunity because I use the truck for several different ventures. Work, school, family, a daily driver, and last but not least an adventuring vehicle. I explore all different types of terrain in all sorts of weather which would be good for reviewing a product such as this. The truck has seen and will see the following again: rain, snow, dust, desert silt, sunshine and rainbows. I also believe I'd be a great candidate since I frequent member meetups and mod days which could help answer questions both from this forum and other off-road forums such as overlandbound. Let's just say I want to be all DECKED out and the truck could use some new additions. I am honest and am more than willing to address any questions members or people might have about your product. Not to mention, I can write a pretty involved forum page.

I would love to test one of your boxes. I feel I could test the full ranges of what you say it can do because I can be found hauling tools and equipment to the job site, bring guns and fishing poles to hunt and fish, bring a bunch of camping gear on off roading trips or who knows what else depending of the weekend. I had a weatherguard pack rat but it was too heavy so I have something to compare to. Pretty active on here check it every night and morning and willing to answer any questions.

 

FINALLY!!! YESSSSSS!!!! I emailed you guys around a year ago about a Tacoma version, and am super excited that it's coming to fruition! Congrats!

After learning that you guys didn't have a tacoma drawer system available yet, I ended up building my own, which has been working pretty good, but is definitely "home made".

We use ours for camping weekly, mountain biking, packing tools, you know, normal truck stuff. Drawers are definitely the way we want to go, but there are so many ways I could think of to improve upon our current setup. With the Decked drawers, we would probably ditch the canopy, because your system would actually hold out water! haha

We would love to test your product out. I know that a lot of people in our area run Tacomas, and have quads and dirtbikes etc, that this setup is basically perfect for. My wife and I have just put everything we own into opening up an overland store, so we are constantly showing off the different kit we have in our personal truck, as well as using it and finding ways to make it better. Not only would we love to push your new system to the limit, but we would love to be a dealer for Decked here in Vancouver, if you don't already have somebody lined up?

Whoever ends up with it, congrats, and I'm just stoked that the Tacoma version is becoming a reality!!!!

Posted in 3rd gen section but the rules never said it had to be a 3rd gen, so here we go...

The license plate says it all. My 2009 has been built primarily as a camping rig and it's put to heavy use. My fiancé and I are avid campers and (sometimes) backpackers and go out at least 1-2 times per month for a trip. Often times it will be primitive "overland" style camping, other times its in a developed campground, and sometimes the truck even gets left behind while we set out on foot for the night. Everything I have put into my rig has been designed with camping in mind. The shell is a recent edition, which replaced my rack and CVT RTT. Now that my bed area is secure, modular storage was next on the list of mods. Because of the diverse types of adventures we go on, our gear changes from trip to trip. These constant change requires numerous totes, bags, and other inconvenient storage items which can be cumbersome, heavy, and hard to organize. A drawer system is exactly what I need to make outdoor adventures a more enjoyable experience. I had the pleasure of camping 2 weeks ago with American Adventurist at the SoCal Mountain Rendezvous 2017 and a member of our group had the Decked system in their Tundra. It was incredible how well organized and efficient the system was, and I have had my eye on this setup ever since. Not only would it fit my needs perfectly, but it would actually get put to the test week after week after week.

I have designed, produced, and actively sell on this forum an Onboard Water System for the 2005-current Tacoma. With that thread being active, I am on TacomaWorld throughout the day constantly checking messages and responding to posts. Having a dedicate thread for this system would not be anything new for me. I am also a member of Overland Bound, American Adventurist, and The Adventure Portal and make regular attempts to join their large events. I'd test it out for you, but I have to warn you that I'm a quality assurance manager and have been in QA for 40 years so I wouldn't go easy on it. Pick me at your own peril!
