Question for those of you that have upgraded your wheels/tires... Does having a negative offset reduce rubbing on larger wheels? Or is it primarily for looks?

The more negative you go in offset the more poke you will have outside the wheel well.

    More poke equals more rub

That being said, more poke gets a 285 tire away from the coil/UCA

Having spent 12 years in San Antonio, I can say that it's a logical progression. Their traffic is better managed, we've got better food (except Mexican - Piedras Negras de Noche on Laredo is the absolute hands-down best).

Fuck it, it's a wash. Meet in New Braunfels or San Marcos and call it good.

You take the filter off really slow and put a dixie cup underneath the drain hole near the filter :D Oil will drain out slow and controlled to go right into the cup. Clean with a paper towel, throw filter and paper towel into dixie cup and profit!

In case anyone doesnt know you could take a small rubber tube hook it up to the barb under where the oil filter screws into and drain it straight down to your pan. Makes things a heck of a lot easier!

So if going to 285s having a negative offset would be recommended then?

    Also, this thread is epic.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/was-stuck-on-trail-now-stuck-in-garage.510800/
Noticed it the other day as it was occurring. OP disappeared and the thread blew up with usual TW BS. 20 pages later the OP reappears and somehow manages to become helpful.

When you do a coil lift, the front wheels will suck in somewhat just due to the geometry change.

I would say yes for sure. Having some negative offset is a good thing
