Agreed. I like the new Tundra, but they are just way behind the curve compared to the other trucks on the market. I have driven the new gmc/chevys with the 6.2, its an impressive motor, same witht he duramax.
The eco and 5.0 are on the list as well.

Thats nice to hear! I admittedly have no true need for a diesel, jsut always liked them. I have driven the new ones and the throttle response was really impressive, no lag at all compared to the duramax IMO. I mostly like one for the power potential, longevity, and highway cruising mileage. Plus then I will never need a bigger truck for future toys.

ya the 6.0 had issues. When addressed it was actually a deecent motor tho.

I believe it...maybe. Hard to beat a 7.3... but ive seen mid gen 6.7's with upwards of 200k+ on them already!! Pretty impressive what ford has created.

6.4's were a shit stock motor too. Built to be a 150k throw-away motor. But again rebuilt from the bottom up they are a decent motor

I guess Ford didn't want to fix it right the first couple times. They won't buy another Ford now but went to Dodge... :puke:

Anything is better than any Dodge... But it isn't my money.

My current work truck is a ram 1500. I am not a dodge fan by any means but admittedly its been a good little truck. I wish it had a little more space, and the mileage is fairly poor.

More and more contractors are driving 1st and 2nd gen Tundra's and 3rd gen Tacoma's these days. Just a personal observation.
The Nissan van has gotten extremely popular too.
I see less and less of the Big 3 on construction sites these days.

Truck size to me depends on what your intended purpose is, plan on dragging around a skid steer 3 days a week? or are you just driving it from site to site with a small amount of tools and some light materials?

Some days when I do side jobs I wish I had a larger truck, the Taco is not a fan of 20+ 80lb bags of concrete, also the ability to tow larger equipment would help me out immensely. But at the same time it still is just side work and I cant justify the cost of a larger vehicle (yet) luckily I have close friends I can call up at the last minute and ask them to deliver for me.

My old company scoffed at my request for a 3/4 or 1 ton truck..... it's not like I was regularly hauling 2500lbs of water, another 2-300 pounds of Carbon for mixing with the water, another couple hundred pounds of tools, and towing an air compressor.......

Trying to focus on whether i should have three fat breakfast burritos or four smaller ones.

And whether that's the port or starboard side of that ship.

    :pccoffee:

Olympic NP is behind the container ship.
