Suspension TSB or not

I got a call from the Service Manager stating they will do the TSB, but caution me if this is really what I want due to the ride smoothness difference.

Question I have for y'all who converted. Is the TSB ride that much harder than stock? Is the suspension kidney buster? How is the ride over small neighborhood bumps?

My application is basically on paved roads, but my 08 4x4 DC 4.0L Taco is going hunting with me and most likely loaded. It is my daily driver, but will see loads on occasion, like over the weekend, my wife bought about 300+ lbs of unassembled stuff from IKEA. The bed was full and consequently with noticeable suspension compression

Any thoughts, I need to answer the guy so he can start ordering parts if I give him the go..

Right after I got it done, I was to my "OMG, what did I do.." it was VERY bumpy.. every crack in the road was horrible. My wife just laughed at me, after two weeks or so.. it has really started to soften, yes.. it's tight, but at least it's no where near as bumpy. They warned/scared me the same way yours has. It is SOOOO much better for carrying loads, you "have" to do it.

if your going to beat it up like a truck, just do it already.. let me know what you think.

get it done!!! you'll like the ride..........and honestly, its not harsh at all......it rides like a truck should, but its still comfortable, and overall handling is way better!!

 

It will be done. Will call them so they can order parts. Timing is good by the the time I get back in town the parts should be here

parts are on order. manager anticipates a week or so to get parts in. will reflect back on my thoughts about the ride after a dew weeks on the road. there is no cheap reversal now...

 

you will like it man. some people.....and by that i mean very few will say it rides stiff. it honestly doesnt, and it does handle alot better....not as much sway at higher speeds, and it soaks up bumps and pot holes alot better than the 3 leaf pack. you'll be glad you went with it man.......we wouldnt lead ya in the wrong direction!!

cant wait till i get my wheeler 5 leaf packs for my 04.....gonna be day and night between the worn out flat stock springs i have on there now!!! and new energy suspension bushings for the springs, rack and sway bar..........gonna be damn good to have!!!

 

I had the same concern before I got mine done. Trust me, you'll love the ride after and also, no more axle-wrap to speak of. My Taco's rear end now 'tracks' over speed bumps instead of hopping over them. No regrets here.

Yeah man get them done, the ride is better and the truck stays level with heavier loads

 

i have a question got the new 4 leaf springs for my 08 dc 4x4 and was wondering the 5100 you guy talk about for the front is it just shocks or do you change the spring out also .been thinking about a little lift for the front. any advice would be very helpfull thinks.

 

It's a Shock, It's Adjustable, and uses your Factory Springs. I have not done it yet, but I got the TSB done recently and the 5100's will be my next step. I measured the rear, I am exactly 1.75" higher in back than front. DC PreRunner. 0", .85", 1.75", 2.5" are the settings available on the 5100's. I am still trying to decide what to do with the rear... blocks/leafs..

I think I will go 1.75 in front and leave the back alone for now. New Tires are next..
