Here are some mock-ups for bottle/shaker labels. Similar info, but perhaps a different orientation will be used for resealable bags. What do you all think? We're still working through this mess with the name. 90% certain there is nothing keeping us from using Rub-a-Dub, but not sure the cost/headache that ensues if the 10% happens makes it worth it. In the meantime "Pitfaced BBQ Rub" is just a placeholder. Also, the spicy will probably say "Give your meat the heat it deserves!".

Maybe in the instructions you say something about when to apply the rub. Seems like half people do night before, half people do right before. Dry brining and all kinds of shit come into question. What say Pitfaced?

 

That's a good point. I'd say we usually put it on 30-60 minutes before cooking and could include that in the instructions. I'm thinking of putting something like "find recipes at pitfacedbbq.com" or something. I'd like to get a recipes page built and would have a few captured on a page prior to releasing the stuff in to the wild.

We're down to 2 lbs of each rub in inventory. Probably holding off on making more in anticipation of our sample arriving and, hopefully, shifting to larger scale production. We have another little event coming up where we might need to make some more, so we'll add the extra to inventory, but right now fingers are crossed to make the next stuff we sell a full retail packaged version of it!

 

Feel like we're all involved in the birth of a baby here... very cool.

 

Feels the same for me, too! Each correspondence with the "Food Technologist" is like when we went to get a sonogram of our kids .

Inventory levels are correct in Shopify, so it'll show stock on our website until we run out. If/when we hit out of stock and I add more, I'll post up in here. You guys are still pretty much the only ones that know about it .

As soon as we settle on the package sizes, we'll be able to price them, at which point I'll have to talk with @tubbsisland a little more seriously .

In the interim, if any of you have some local shops that you think would be good for us to inquire about getting in to, let me know! We'll be taking baby steps along the way, so I don't expect to expand too far, too quickly, but it would be good to lay some groundwork. Besides, BBQ Island gets first dibs on all of the Pitfaced BBQ product that they need .

I'm about to hit a very busy time, unfortunately. I'm about a month out from starting my *last* class for my MBA and the holidays will get going as well. That'll end up coinciding with a lot of stuff I want to get done with Pitfaced BBQ. Oh well, gotta nut up and get it done!

I've actually been thinking about buying some stuff from you guys for a Christmas present for my friend. Thinking about doing a package of both rubs, patch and koozies.

Ya that's what I was thinking. Him and I do a lot of BBQ together so it's not like I don't get the fruit's of the gift lol.

 

That's why I always get my dad a good bottle of whisky.
