I am ordering both this weekend but am unsure whether I'm going to need any trimming at all. On another note, will i need to replace my UCA's? What exactly will replacing my UCA's do for me in this setup?

    Thanks for your help guys!

New UCAs will fix any alignment issues you may have after the lift :)

X2. Depending on what tire size you get i.e. 33"s, then you will need to trim. But not a whole lot.;)

Awesome, so just so I'm clear -- it will fix alignment issues that a normal service alignment won't fix? (I'm assuming normal service alignments only go so far.)

Should I be proactive and get UCA's before the lift, or wait until I see any alignment problems and get the UCA's then?

Oh crap did you just change the title of the thread cause now I see a tire size!!! Yeah with that size you will need to trim. If you got the funds, I would go with the UCA's now instead of later. I mean you are getting a great lift kit so why not get new UCA's!!:D

Haha, nope, haven't changed the title :p

So in your opinion / experience, would it be safer to say "You WILL have alignment problems after the 3" lift" or "You MAY have alignment problems after the 3" lift"?

Honestly, I have heard more, you WILL have alignment issues then NOT. Others that dont have aftermarket UCA's also say their trucks tend to wander left and right while driving down the highway.

You Will...Your Caster will be off and especially running 33s :)

I have a 3 Inch Lift and my alignment was jacked...The stock UCAs would not get my caster right.
I'm using Light Racing UCAs and there great!

Ok...that does it -- I'm shelling out for new UCA's. Probably going to get the Light Racing UCA's.

Thanks for all the help and input guys! This is why I love this board just as much as I love my truck.

I'll be sure to post pics when the deed is done :spy:

Hey guys, so i got everything installed this past weekend and I love it!

    - Toytec Ultimate Lift
    - Light Racing Upper Control Arms
    - SE Anthracite FJ Wheels
    - 285/75/16 Firestone Destinations

Front Coils set at 3 1/2", and I have no rubbing in normal driving situations, no matter how much I turn the wheel. If I hit a rock or a drop, I get some rub. In reverse I get a very slight rub when turning the wheel.

    Here's a pic:

Thanks for all your guys' input!

Thanks guys! Yeah, when I picked her up I almost didn't recognize her. The lift makes a big difference in person.

@chad - i got em at Frank Toyota here in San Diego (same place I bought the truck a couple weeks ago). They were super cool. Had them ordered for $525 for 4, had them in my truck bed the very next day.

I think I've seen them on eBay before. That one good price for those as well. The way you have everything set up is the exact way I want mine set up.
