What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Shipping something from cali to jersey via fedex, how long does it usually take? less than 5 business days I hope?

 

I cracked more god damn bolts, used up whatever honda 10mm bolts I had and now I gotta go back to the junkyard to get more. Freakin insane this tacoma.

Finally finished the install of my BMW seats. I would hate to guess the number of hours I spent on researching the wiring to get full function of the six way power, lumbar support, and heat. I had to basically lobotomize the driver seat, and replace all of the wiring and switch with those from another passenger seat. This was due to the switch being tied back to the central computer system. Spent a couple of evenings pulling and moving pins in the various connectors to get proper function.

I used different mounting methods on each seat. On the passenger (the first that I did), I made feet that matched perfectly with the factory Toyota feet, and welded them to the tracks of the BMW seats. This was a messy way, required removing the carpet (easiest way, since I wanted to also apply Frost King to lower the amount of road noise, anyway). For the driver side, I instead made brackets and bolted them to the floor, and the bolted the tracks to the brackets. Much more straight forward, and it allowed me to place the seat at the lowest possible level. It still feels like you are riding quite a bit "higher in the saddle". The real issue is that it is impossible to make the front of the seat any lower.

But they are comfy, and the heat will feel good come winter time here in upstate NY.

I'm seeing a trend here with the wheel well lights and I realize that they can be functional when shit breaks down on the road. Def something to look into but not for the bling factor.

 

I've searched and can't find a definite answer, what is the backspacing of stock alloy wheels?

How much power are you making at the wheels?

 

About 240 hp and 265 torque at 2300rpms at the rear wheel, which is about 300 hp and 325 torque at flywheel or so.
I'm at 6000 feet so I'm limited

 

That's interesting how you used the factory windshield fluid reservoir. Did you relocate the wiper fluid somewhere else?

 

No, I have a snow performance system stage 2 that I use boost juice that s 50/50 water methonal,
Windshield winter fluid is 30/70 methanol so the boost juice is used for the wiper fluid also.
Keeps the system nice and clean looking and installed a low level fluid sensor.
My system sprays at 5 pounds of boost up, so I don't need a lot,
Gives me about 1500 miles per gallon of methanol, 5 tanks of gas, also depends if your hotroding it and will be less of course or how you setup your system.

Did a littl bit of work on the rear .new j59's . Wheelers extended line . Relpaced a blown shock. Rides a lot nicer now.
And i had to crank up the front a bit to help level it out.
