Take it off - its like 7 10mm bolts and several #2 phillips screws. I did it within like 2 hrs of owning my truck.

Do as much sanding as you can while it is on the vehicle. Easier to view and it is not sliding around while you are working on it. Take it off and break it down for the edges and the painting.

UMMM! Guess you may have not heard --they have clamps and "workmates" to hold stuff stationary while one is working on a object?

Thanks everyone! With your help, basically calming my nerves on painting my NEW 17 truck, I got it done. One issue though: I cleaned it and use a primer. But this primer or maybe all, put a sandy texture on you. I can wipe some of it off but now I'm afraid the paint won't stay. But there isn't anything I can do about it now.

Take OFF the grill. Extremely easy. Two top screws and two plugs on top. Grill will pull out.

How does the T badge come off? Did you have to glue it back on or are there clips?
    Thanks

It just clips in, no tools required just push on the clips and pull it off, to reinstall hook the bottom clip in place first and snap it into place.

I did mine using the Rustoleum version of plasti-dip. hammered black.

did the emblems at the same time too. Did this in Feb and it still looks like I just did it.

I went the bed liner route, used the rustoleum bed liner from Home Depot. I couldn't stand the Toyota logo so I designed and printed a custom logo then painted to match with bed liner & Rustoleum(or Krylon) Paprika spray paint

In another forum I was on some people would use plastidip as a sort of primer and spray regular spray paint over it for more color choices and still be able to peel it off. I personally haven't done it though. Iirc the person that posted it was using that method to paint his rims.

Did this on my motorcycle and airbrushed over it. Makes the derp harder to remove, but it worked just fine.

I mean yes I can print more of them; but, it's more so the question if I want to put the effort to assemble/sell them.

Oh, so it wasn't just one piece printed? I need to get/build a 3D printer. You should do a thread on your 3D printer set up;) There is so much info out there, it's hard to know where/how to start.

    back on topic...
I took my grill apart yesterday, and then decided I didn't want to spend the time sanding it down, so put it all back on LOL... getting lazy these days:(
