Any recommendations for nerf bars? Looking to buy a black pair for a double cab but I'm not sure which brands are good and which are sh*t.

Camper top with racks, Custom fogs behind lower bumper. Interior LED lighting, Rock Lights, Hella 500s with upraged bulbs behind black billet grill, AAL, Front 5100s
I own an Aries, super easy to install, but the hangers are pretty obvious. Westins are a continuous tube that is a little cleaner looking but they are heavier, and I don't like the look as much.

I just got some Black Steelcraft nerf bars from AutoAnything.com. They were pretty cheap (under $200), and they seem fairlywell made, but I'm not sure I like the way they look. They hang a little lower than I like, but they don't stick out too far. I'll probably upgrade to some Nfabs later, anyway.

I got the Hunter nerf bars that I saw first here by another member. I bought it on Ebay from member truckgeardirect for $109 + $50 shipping. They look awesome on my Black DC L/B sport. I'll try to get some pics today to show you.

if i was doing some rock crawling i would get the sliders, but the nerf bars better suit my needs by sticking out a little further. Plus great for door dings

2.5" front lift Daystar coilover spacer. 2.5" rear lift add-a-leaf N-Fab wheel to wheel nerf/step bar Polished Stainless Leer cap from my 2000 Tacoma --- It does fit; don't let them lie to you

    N-fab/Smittybuilt, that's what I have.

N-fab and Smittybuilt are the same product. I bought mine from 4wheelparts. Not my favorite store at all...every time they have been a real pain in my ass, and would try their hardest to find some new way of adding more costs on to labor. Unfortunatly they are littereally right down the street from me, and sell things I like and need; and with free delivery to the store...

Anyways, about 3 months ago I was looking at different bars and pricing. I really liked the N-fab and really did not know if I could trust Smittybuilt as a good product. They both looked EXATLY the same and even had the EXACT part number. So I called N-fab. They said that each company makes their own, BUT Smittybuilt has a contract with N-fab, to make N-fabs product as thier own. N-fab agreed to it, but the bar MUST be made exactly to n-fabs specs, or they will lose the right to make them.

So I ordered the Smittybuilt ones, in polished stainless, they were around 100 less then the N-fab. They came in a box marked Smittybuilt. Got them home and opened the box, and they were stamped N-fab! N-fab stamps theirs with their name, smittybuilt has no name stamping.

    Somthing to think about....
I chose the bar I did because I "don't need it" to get in and out, not to mention they are combersome for me to use. And yes my truck is lifted about 2.5 inches. The hoops are in a "sweet" spot were they can be used effectively, or not used at all when stepping in...if your not going to use it stepping in, they way they sit and extend out, does not hit your leg. Witch is good in Ohio, in the winter with them being so dirty...they don't make your one leg all dirty, like "running boards" or other nerf bars that that extent out the whole lenth of your cab.

so for me they work great...I don't have to use them, but the girlfriend and her kids do, so they are there for them, but do not interfear with me getting in and out. :)

Sorry to say this but, it's a 2" tube. When I was looking around for bars, I noticed some sights said 3" and some said 2". So I called N-fab directly, they said it was infact 2", and that is what they are, the ones on my truck that is. But they look great. :)

Just so your not pissed off when you get them.
