U.S. MIlitary Sleeping Bags - Various Conditions

I do the same as my neighbor here.

Are these for big guys or normal? I'm not that tall but am a bigger built feller 5'11" and 270lbs. Put me down for 2 new sets unless you are down to 1 now and I will take it.

So...while looking through another box today, I found two more Unissued/Unused sleep sets, but these are strictly normal sized sets...This is the end of new ones until we go back to the auctions in the new couple of weeks...All the boxes have been gone through and I have sorted through everything and did an accounting of inventory...Get them while you can...Since I had heart surgery I've had a lot of time on my hands to get things organized...

If you ever come across a NEW TNF ECWS tent, w/ the fly set (white and woodland)... gimme a shout.

 

I have see those in lots of 20 to 30. The Marines had some last year that were used for a test...I tried to bid on them, but someone paid almost retail for used tents...I suspect they were purchased by US residents of Ukrainian decent and sent over for the War against Russia...I have seen the prices of all US military surplus double in bid price in the last 12 months due to Ukrainians purchasing everything no matter what I cost...Kind of crazy, but it has artificially increased the cost, which obviously is passed on the purchaser in one way or another...I was selling excellent sleep sets for $75 a little over a year ago...

Hey guys, just won 4 auctions on Thursday and will be picking up about 75 more sleep sets...it looks like from the details of the auctions I will have some more new sleep sets mixed in with the new inventory (numbers unknown at this time)...i'll up date the first post with inventory levels as soon as I have a chance to look the sleeping bags over...Thank You all for your great responses and support. Hey all...I figured I would post this information, which we also include in each box when we ship the sleep sets...This is the CARE and CLEANING Information on these sleeping bags.


This product is the exact same sleeping system the military has used for a number of years in a variety of climates and environments. All of these bags come directly from the military at auction. These sleep sets are available in a number of conditions to you, our customer.

1. New – New/Unissued/Never Used
   
   
2. Excellent Condition – Possibly Unissued or Slightly used
   

To ensure you get the most out of your purchase and ensure you properly care for all of the parts of this sleeping system:

1. SLEEPING BAGS - We recommend that you wash the Intermediate Bag (The black heavy bag) and the Patrol Bag (The light weight green or grey bag), because they have been stored in a government warehouse for an unknown length of time in unknown conditions (i.e. an open box with dust or other dirt and/or with non-dangerous contaminates in the air). Yes, even the new sleeping bags might have dust on them. DO NOT DRY-CLEAN THESE SLEEP SYSTEMS! We recommend cleaning them in your home washing machine, on a delicate cycle with a small amount of laundry detergent (Your best results will be from a front load machine). We also recommend running the bags through a second rinse cycle to ensure you have removed all of the detergent before use. Drying is simple, drip/air dry your bags in the bathtub, in your living-room/garage or deck. We have found they dry quickly and generally take less than 24 hours.
   
   
2. BIVY COVER – because this is a waterproof cover, do not wash this in a machine or dry clean. The best method for cleaning is to wash the bivy cover with a garden water hose, using a light soft brush or broom and some liquid dish soap. Lightly brush the cover and rinse with water. These dry quickly with air drying in just a few minutes (exterior), if you wash the interior, this may take longer to dry as it is not the waterproof side of the cover.
   
   
3. If you ever get a hole in the bivy cover there are a number of iron on patches (available on the internet), which are waterproof, they work great (just don’t use the iron at too high a heat setting or you will burn the bivy cover). Use a waterproofing spray or sealant to seal the seams if you ever sew or add a patch to any part of the cover.
