Carl, head isn't bad, did not feel too tight two hours ago, feels like it tightened up a little since. Not infected, but get a little wetness if I press a little in one area.
Registered with Equifax this AM. Had to call twice to get to an associate who could finish. Second call only took 20 minutes. Hope this was worth it, one communication more or less said my personal info was compromised, not there wording.

For you Carl, I will extend the hours in a day to 36 from 24. Guess you could use the extra time with all you have to do. I tell you what, I think we had the same dentist. I got a call from his receptionist telling me he was done, throwing in the towel and retiring. He to was a good guy that did almost everything in his office. Now I have to go in search of.

OH NO Duane hope your not losing brain fluid LOL. Call the doc and see what he says. Might be nothing, but you never know.
If I had issues with Equifax and my info got hacked, I would want to speak with an attorney if I lost money. Good luck with them Duane.

Equifax should have to PAY for EVERYONE who was hacked, for security monitoring for 10 years!!! Their stupidity let to this situation and now we all have to pay, whether with $$ to put the lock on our credit or our time to do all the tracking. I look at it this way... you give a credit card, in my name to someone else, if it isn't mailed to my house, it's not me, so don't come to me looking for payment!!!

Ah, Friday, or as I call it, 'First Saturday'. Time for coffee and a crossword.

 

Hi Susan and guys. Got ambitious the last few days and finally serviced the air filter and battery on my KLR650. Tried distilling water for the battery in the kitchen, but after two hours gave up, made little progress. Bought some at the store. Hard to see the fluid level in the battery. The original battery died a year ago, bike mechanic in town said my Battery Tender caused it by being plugged in all the time, but my battery was low yesterday, was only about a year old and never hooked up to the charger. I'll have to chaeck it now every year. The air filter was coming apart, only had 8450 miles on it, guess didn't like being squeezed dry after I cleaned it, so ordered a new one, installed it yesterday. The local cycle shop sold me a battery over a year ago which was slightly taller than the original, but did not leave enough room for the Battery Tender cables so I took those off last year. There was a partial cover for the battery, so I left it off this year and used a few O rings as spacers and seems to work. Hooked up the cables and can use the Battery Tender again and the pig tail coming off the battery to plug in my motorcycle air compressor if needed. Bike started right up yesterday, ran it until it hit 195 degrees. Good weekend so far.

Afternoon all:
Neat bike Duane , that's one of the things I never owned.

Spent almost 5 hrs. at the rifle range today playing with the new scope and a bunch of different loads for the AR.
Only loaded one load for the 52 gr Bergers Gary, not bad at about 3/4" and I think by playing with them a little I can tighten that up. Went to various other tips and powder combinations and so so, not impressed! THEN; started on the 60 gr V Max where I put 3 almost in the same hole with IMR 4895, then 3 touching with Varget, then 2 almost in 1 hole and the other almost touching those two with Benchmark, looks like the gun really likes the 60 gr V Max!
I also used H335 with the 60 gr V Max, but that wasn't as accurate. It also shot the 77 gr Sierra pretty decent using Varget, but after seeing what the 60gr V Max could do I think I found what I need to stick with.
That Leupold mark AR 3x9x40 with a firedot is a nice scope, crosshairs are a little heavier than I like, but I can live with that for hunting purposes. I didn't turn the firedot on to sight it in, I wanted that mostly for night shooting if I spot a coyote in the yard. Hopefully I can see it, the gun light is red and the firedot is green, should be able to see it!

 

If it's a tender with a float mode then he is full of shit.
We run 30 battery tenders all year long.
I run battery tenders all winter on all my stored toys.
You need the ones that go into maintenance mode.
If its not designed to go into a maint. mode the change the charger.
I have never had a issue.
I have batteries that are 10 years old.
I do a charge on my vehicle batteries once a month to peak them with my chargers.
Yes check your water but may not the only reason it dumped....
It might not have been filled to start.

 

Carl, I think the 52 gr. Bergers like a slow twist and seated close to the lands. Good luck with your load development. They would be devasting on predators up to coyotes.

I have shot crows, armadillos, and turtles using them with spectacular results. Rifle is an old Rem 700 Varmint hvy barrel. 1-14 rifling.

 

I kept the BT plugged in all month long, may have been the issue, maybe only plug in a day or two a month? I have the BT Plus. Can't recall exactly when I got the new battery, I did lose my footing when i was trying to unload the bike from the back of my old Toy and dropped the bike in the bed, may have lost fluid then. This time when filling the battery, I paid attention more.

My AR has a 1-7 twist and likes the heavier bullets too.

 

Remember when you fill the battery , you need to do it two or three times. As the plates absorbed acid the level drops.

 

I spent an hour maybe filling the battery with the gallon jug, using a small eye dropper. Thought it would be faster and less messy than a small funnel. Not sure I saved timed, but I work cheap.

I don't have a ton of experience with battery tenders but I leave 2 tenders on 24x7x365, basically any time the cars are not actually being driven. Been doing that for 2 years, no issues so far. Both of my tenders are made by CTEK; one is a few years old, the other is a newer model.

EDIT: Both units advertise that they 'recondition' batteries as well as maintain them during long periods of inactivity.

 

Afternoon all:
Little early, but there's just something just not right about putting snow tires on the Tacoma while the sweat pouring off of you!
Probably could wait awhile, but like to have them on for hunting.

 

I know what you mean. Been times here where we've had a storm come thru and people are scrambling to get new tires on. Tires are on sale about that tike too, I plan ahead/behind. Try to avoid any rush.

My rule of thumb is: winter tires go on before Thanksgiving and stay on until Tax Day. But I don't have any winter tires for our cars anymore. Unlike a few years ago, neither of us are in positions where we *have* *to* get somewhere no matter the weather, so we just stay home. It feels like a luxury after all those years of fighting the storms.
