Yep, We have a Winch on our Rescue truck, so we asked for a refresher, turns out, My boss just created a power point for our Technical Rescue class ( for those nerds out there NFPA 1006 Vehicle Tech). He came and taught it, and knows I off road, asked me to get a bunch of info and photographs for him to add.
Currently looking for info and specs on snatch blocks, got a few videos for him to add.

You're welcome! Did you know that with three snatch blocks, you can winch yourself backwards? I sure as hell didn't until a couple days ago. I learned it in one of th AOAA threads. May be something you'd be interested in for the PP.

 

I was reading that and giggling, I do rope rescue, so rope systems and what you guys were discussing was pretty easy to understand. I have two videos that talk about doing that. It's almost like building a 3:1 system with a change of direction.

 

Explain this..

 

The key is to have a snatch block hooked to the back of your truck, doubling the line at the rear. Without this, it'd be impossible.

Edit: the other two blocks are to just get the line in position to the rear of your truck.
