Not sure if this has been addressed. My door sills have been broken for a while, would never stay securely attached. Couldn't seem to find anything on it. Anyways, cost me $5 works perfect and took 5 minutes to do. Saved me from spending $200 on new sills.

    Tools needed:
    IMG_1712.jpg
    Part from Napa:
    IMG_1711.jpg

    1. Remove door sill (4 screws)
    2. Install nylon nuts:
    IMG_1709.jpg
    3. Cut broken tabs from door sill:
    IMG_1710.jpg
    4. Screw back in (don't over tighten):

    Done fixed

    Freakin' geneous!

I'm totally doing this. Mine have been loose for, well, like 10 years... Might even stop on the way home today...

I actually feel kinda dumb for having not thought of this.

Don't know what I've been waiting for. Just too lazy, I guess, to fix my problem door sill plate. Thank you very much for showing us the NAPA part numbers and for the rest of your post.

I was so excited that I didn't read carefully. I thought, "Where'd he get those plastic nut things? Everything is in Spanish". So, I scrolled up and looked again. I see "Nylon Nuts". That helps. But where did he get them? I looked again, and I see you typed, "Part from napa". Ah! Great.

Then I see the giant "NAPA" on the damn bag.

    Thanks, man.

Two out of four tabs are broken in my driver side plate. I was not ready to spent 80 bucks for other than that perfectly good part. I was thinking the same solution trying different "nuts" (including drywall screws) but I couldn't find anything that would fit and not end up inside the rocker panel. Now I know the correct Napa part. It is on my shopping list. Thank you.

Great fix to an ancient first gen problem! I don't have a NAPA nearby here, but found the same nuts made by Dorman at a giant online retailer. Here's a pic with the part number:

Nice fix, now if only I could keep the plastic cover on the side of the drivers seat from falling off. Might try to adapt this for that
