Are bilsteins all around necessary for the spindle lift? Would spindles and Dakars be sufficient for a leveled lift? New to the idea of lifting, so I'm trying to get as much info as I can before jumping in. Read through all the pages and everyone is using Billy's but was wondering if it was necessary. I'm trying to spend the least I can while maintaining the stock ride. Also currently have 265/70/17 on, would I have to go bigger on tires or can I wait til I run them down. Thanks in advance

Billsteins are not necessary, just optional. You can just get the 4" Maxtrac Kit with their rear shocks. If you get the Dakar pack instead you will might need the extended length shocks from bilstein as the Dakars will provide you 2.75-3" of lift in the rear vs a 2" block. You also are more leveled with the Dakars. You can keep the factory front struts. Changing them out is just optional. Keep your tires till you run them out.

Also, remember your warranty will be voided.

So after a few days on the 33x12.5 ive decided I probably am gonna do a regear, it drives good just takes some more of the small pedal to get to speed and maintain on hills, etc. so does anyone have any advice on what gears to get im thinking 4.56 would be just right but ive also heard 4.88 is good too
But i dont want my rmps to be crazy high when cruising down the highway at 70 since thats mostly the driving it will see

Give it a few weeks and you won't hate it as much.

I'm still going 4.88's, but I'm not in as much of a rush anymore.

I feel you. I'm not sure what heavy mod I'll do next - Gears? Custom leaf packs? Custom drive shaft? I just...don't...know...

Has anyone done only the maxtrac spindle lift kit with the rear blocks and maxtrac shocks? It sells for just under $700 online. They have an option with fox shocks for just under $1000.
