Shoud I bother getting the rear leaf TSB if i already have airbags?

First of all, i am SORRY to make another TSB thread. I know the 09s are now covered for the rear TSB. I tow a 5,000lbs + trailer + stuff in the bed about 5 times a month, so I installed a set of firestone riderite air bags, which are great! i now keep them inflated a lot that when i tow, the rear still has a slight forward rake and the truck drives great. I am just wondering since i drive my truck a lot, it will be out of warranty soon, should i bother getting the rear TSB done? or since I have airbags it is 100% totally pointless? if i did do it, i would have to uninstall the airbags before i took it to the dealer to have them install the new leafs. I think its best i dont have another grease monkey touch the truck, but let me know if anyone here has a good reason why i should do it, then i would uninstall the airbags and take it in for the TSB.

I would, they shoulda been there to begin with since it's been a known problem since 2005. Make them do it. Your bags will love you for it and they might last longer not having to do the job of proper leafs when not towing and do less work when you do tow.

If you don't have a TRD version free shocks after however many miles you have put on the truck aren't a bad thing too.

 

The truck should have had the TSB springs to begin with. Id get them swapped out

 

you guys are right, i think i will just do it...last question and i will let this thread die! do they do an alignment for you after the new leaf pack?

 

I had the Ride Rites on my '05 to stop the rear bottoming out... My '10 doesn't bottom out (so far), so I have better springs (still just 3 leaves) than the '05. No need for my air bags if the springs are doing their job... So, I am wondering if your air bags work as great as mine did, why change anything? The springs are not adjustable and you will have a harder ride when not loaded down.

If you do the TSB, then you won't need the airbags... and if you have airbags, you don't need the TSB! You have to decide...

 

i have the 4 leaf pack and i still use the airbags.
air bags are great. load a 800 pound atv. press the button to 50 psi. rides awesome

 

Yes, they should do the front and rear alignment as per the TSB.

 

I know i will still need the airbags with the TSB, although I know the new leaf pack is suppose to be good at helping the rear end sag, with my weight trailer and with all the stuff in my bed it will still sag a bit without the airbags. But I see where you are coming from if i am using the airbags why do the TSB, and that was my original question.. So i am not sure, but I think i will try to get it done for the hell of it. Maybe for the free alignment!
