Sad for MT owners who think they bought their truck to have better control over driving dynamics, then to learn it is just as slow of a robot as the autos.

Oh man, tell me about it. Really fun starting out on a steep incline. You have to learn to drive manual a whole different way to be effective with these trucks. Fuck that, OVtune to the rescue.
Although it was developed for the A/T trucks, version 1.02 went a long way in improving the situation. Muuuuuch better than stock, but not quite perfect. Mat has said there will be a version of 1.02C specifically done for M/Ts... just gotta get one to dyno/street mule!

Kinda I guess, but we still have greater control over our transmissions. It's the damn throttle response that's the killer. If Mat can fix the A/T and make you guys happy, it should be a lot easier to get the M/T to perfection. We don't have that 1200 shift point possibility horseshit to deal with!!

When I send Mat my stock file, do I need to let him know that I'm on 35's, snorkeled, full armor, and aftermarket exhaust or does any of that matter?

35's only affect speedo which he has yet to dig into
Armor just makes you slower. Nothing to do with the tune
snorkel I think is negligible, but I would tell him that and the exhaust

still STILL i have no idea what you guys are talking about. i haven't even installed my short shifter yet and i have literally nothing to complain about... and believe me i'm no granny driver. i toss this thing around like a sports car and use my throttle control to do it.

I have the hypertech so my speedo is accurate. Just wondering if he needed that info.

I'm glad you're happy man, no joke. You've got a unicorn for sure, because my throttle has felt like garbage since new. I learned to drive differently because of it. 1.02 fixed a lot of the lag and mushy feeling, but it's still there.

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought 1.02c was going to include all the updated shifting for A/T...?

I have an Auto and have no complaints as of yet. Lol. My God the blasphemy. :crapstorm: Sorry Fellas.

I'm sure I can figure out some shit to hate on my new truck eventually though. Then I'll prob be buying the tranny and motor tunes :)

1- it's not as fast, as loud, as torquey as my past 2014 Ram Big Horn 4x4 CC...Which is pretty much a good thing all the ways around.

    Cuz,

It's so much more manuaverable and nimble than the Ram, gets a lot better mpg (13.4 mpg calculated over 1 yr ownership), doesn't give me a headache to drive (flowmater 10's on Ram :annoyed:), and I haven't whacked off anyone's mirrors lately with the Taco (Ram had crazy wide tow mirrors and yeah I have whacked stuff with em).

All kidding aside, I'm sure these tunes work great and it's great that there are innovators out there making these products. Who knows I might eventually pick one up :bananadance:

haha! well... to be clear, the tune on my truck is fully f'ing awesome. i think there's more power in there ready to grab when the dyno time comes, but for driveability, and even for power at this point, i'm one happy guy with it. knowing there's more to come is like the cherry on top.

I suppose it's actually possible that Toyota changed the throttle response in later versions of the stock ECM code.... for instance, mine is 4B10, and my truck was a very early build (Sep 2015).

Yep, and also a pissoff if true. No TSB for M/T shitty throttle, so the dealer would have no reason to flash my ECM with anything but 4B10. Anyway, there could also be the differences in trims (reaching here) - You have a Pro and I have an OR.

if anything it's just the manufacture date. i know for a fact my truck was built after yours, and the motor was likely built after as well, but i don't know how to verify that... for what it's worth.
