Did you manage any kind of deal on the phone, or just the standard $31.50 a month? I'm even more overdue for an upgrade than you were (as in I've never actually used an 'upgrade'), but last time I asked about it because of the pricing structure changes, basically the upgrade was worthless because my old phone is worthless and they don't subsidize phones anymore. I mean, I think I could have but only if I signed another 2 year contract or something, because this was right before they completely eliminated contracts.

Wait, what? You got an S8 from Verizon for a total of $20? You don't have a 'device payment fee' added to your bill closer to $31? Please tell me how and where you did this, because if I can go from https://www.iretron.com/uploads/product/picture/audiovox_CDM_9000.jpg to an S8 for $20 I will do it tomorrow. Or is that just the financing/interest on TOP of paying the actual $750 for the phone.

Whoops, that was misleading. I paid $700.00 out of pocket because they won't let you buy it outright without financing a small part of it.
So I financed the last $20.00. Total out of pocket out the door was $1039.47 with the bundled extras.
Verizon no longer does upgrades for devices. As far as i know. Or maybe I just got screwed, doesn't matter, I needed a new phone.

    ICON ftw
I heard good things about the S8. So far i like it. Takes nice pics. Has nice sound too. Way more options with is. Choice of ringtones kind of sucks.

    For $1k....

This phone I actually had insurance and they kept sending me refurbished crap with a different problem. So I still haven't "set up" this phone.

And it has always been on vibrate since i started the trip so no need for ring tones or alerts.

2 weeks on hurricane duty and we're finally headed home. A few days were spent in Tampa and the last week we were in Ft. Meyers. Working in the heat and humidity was the biggest challenge. Sweating out more than you can take in every day.
I can't imagine what it would be like to live in that environment with no electricity for 13 days. Living conditions were becoming more and more unsanitary. You can do all that shit on any phone you silly goose.

And I'll take vacation over a screen anytime. :p

BTW... You should be winding down work and ramping up the funding for a camper. Just saying.
