You hate it? I love it, I just need gears and I'll be good to go!

It's a lot easier to go down hills with stick, don't use your brakes all the time

That's true, it's just going up the hills... that's the damn worst. You can't just idle there. It's either go or stop... no in between. I also need to regear.

Looks like lots of 1st gen manuals are coming along!

From reading the comments looks like I'll need to bring a spare CV and I need to quit procrastinating buying a full size spare.

PS what tire pressure do y'all run for this trip? I usually do like 11-12psi since I'm not beadlocked.

    4LO in 1st gear works great for 2nd gens with a 2.7FTMFW

This looks doable for even me. I'm sure there's gonna be worse than this, but for some crazy reason, I trust you strangers from the internet and listen to spotters

Gears should fix you right up on that, but I agree that's the worst part

Having a 12:1 low range makes it pretty easy to idle over stuff:D. Any of you 1st Gen ifs guys need parts? I have a full set of front spare CVS and a front 4:10diff that I can't get rid of.

I agree. I went with 255's. While I love my tire choice, STT Pro, I should have just went with 285's. My reason was I didn't want to buy wheels yet or do any cutting. Now I'm ready to do both, but need to wait until I wear this set of tire out. The 255's look ok, but I think the 285's just makes these trucks look really badass. By the way, I wouldn't buy any other tire. The Pro's are freaking amazing.
