Awright guys, I'm gonna ask y'all to push me over a cliff or two here.
    1. I need to be talked into pulling the trigger on getting a lift. The OME kit has my eye, but I'm completely clueless regarding coils. I have sliders now, want to armor up underneath soon-ish, and eventually get a bumper/winch. I've been through the lift threads, but I couldn't tell the difference between a 884X coil and a 888X coil if you hit me with one. How do you know what you really need?
    2. Stereo. The stock system sounds like ass (no JBL), and so far I'm liking what OEM Audio Plus has to offer. The price is right around where I want to spend, I'd be comfortable installing it myself, but I've not heard one locally. Have any of YOU guys experience OEM Audio's stuff?
There we are. Talk amongst you'selves...

I was pretty busy last night, but apparently I got all of tonight's work done as well.

I'm WAY overcaffeinated and bored as f*ck right now.

I'm not talking you into a lift.

I think stock, 4 x 4 Tacoma's look just right. I'm in these fuckers for reliability and coolness factor 2nd.

Maybe a leveling kit, but that is it.

I don't care what lift system you go with, there is no way an aftermarket lift company put as much effort into engineering these trucks as Toyota did.

I've seen it time and time again about how people get lifts and complain about random items that would just piss me off. I'm just going to avoid the headaches to begin with.

If I need a rig to "wheel" with, I'll have a dedicated rig just for that.

Those "remember, stupid, you still need to drive this home" patches offered, could not have hit the nail on the head better.

Or maybe I'm just pissy because I turn 50 next month. I dunno?

I would do it. Not just for the raise, although it is a nice raise. I would also do it for experience, and establish a reputation of helping out the team. That may mean nothing to your company or it may mean everything:notsure:

Here's to pissy at 50, I turned 50 back in January!

I WAS going to totally pass on any kind of lift, I even got stock-sized BFGs just for a better off-road and winter tire. That was until I went out to Canyonlands with some friends back in May.

I realized that on some of those trails, I was occasionally cutting it close clearance-wise. I even smacked my frame once coming off a shelf, so I took it as a bit of a wake-up call.

I don't want to lift it a ton, just maybe a shade over 2" with a tad taller tire would be perfect.

Who said 50 is the new 40? They need fupa punched!

I didn't realize this was the 50+ thread, all this time I thought I was posting in the Graveyard Shift...

@StainlessSteelRatt, I have just a leveling kit from the dealer, for now. I'm not an expert at lifts at all, but I've been reading a ton on them. The different coils numbers with OME are just different weight ratings I think (600lb, 650lb, 700lb etc) that affect the stiffness of your ride, and give you lift in the front for what you have on it (armor). If you want a 200lb steel bumper and a winch, you'd want a heavier rated coil.

I'm fine with what I have for now, if I did get a true suspension lift, it probably wouldn't sit much higher then I have it now. If/when I do a lift, I would do the bumper and winch etc too. I'd only do that if I plan to get serious about off-roading. I have all these cool buttons I haven't used yet, and I want to try them out.

I'd pretty much be doing the exact same thing I've been doing for the last year, they are after me because everything is by seniority. If I dont do it, someone who doesn't have much experience up there will probably get it, and they don't want that at all.

Oh, you've NOT used the cool buttons yet???

The MTS kicks total ass, where I've been usually has mixed sand and rock and the MTS helps tear through it like nobody's business. I've only used the locker once. I've tried the crawl control a couple of times just for grins, but I can't say I've ever really needed it at all. It works GREAT, but the truck's really just driving itself at that point.

These are very capable off-roaders, even without a lift I love mine!

No, I haven't had a chance to really use the buttons yet. :(

I know they are capable. :). I think there's some Toyota/tacoma meet this weekend, not far from where I live, at an off road park. I really don't want to tear anything up yet, I haven't even made my first payment. I do hope we get a bunch of snow this year though. It kind of sucks in a way having a brand new truck with all these awesome off-roading features, but it's too nice to tear up just yet.

I have scratches on mine already too, I don't even know how. Nothing that won't buff out, just everything is magnified on black. They do look tit when they are clean though.
