Where's them Rusted Frames

Yea, I'm debating whether to treat it with fluid film or leave it well enough alone to succumb to the obvious sooner than later.

 

I've been told that if you spray anything over the rust it will most likely rust faster .!

Obviously the stuff in the video won't repair damage previously caused, but I wanted to make sure you guys were aware of Fluid Film which is great at preventing future rust if you get a shiny new frame from Toyota.

Got me some but not sure if I will use it on my rusty frame but I will be coating the inside of my new rear bumper !

 

I don't think I'd try and save a rusty frame if it's eligible for free replacement. My luck id save it for about a month after the frame warranty ended! Let the sucker rust and enjoy a new frame on toyotas dime

 

After I found out about the Settlement and came to the realization there was no saving my frame, I just let it go.
Just for informational purposes....My rot REALLY began to show after some washes with the hose and pressure washer. All of which didn't show up till after it was out of the salt belt.

Just received a message from the dealership. Service Advisor stated that most of the parts needed for my truck have arrived, they're waiting on a couple of more parts. New ETA is 4-6 weeks. Better than the 5-6 months I was told at first.

After Thursdays phone call I went over to visit my truck yesterday. As I pulled up I noticed a stack of about a dozen brand new frames and another stack of old rusted frames. Drove around back to where my truck is parked. Since it has been sitting for about 5 weeks now the battery was dead. Pulled out my portable jump starter and started it up, drove it around the lot a bit to shake off the rust and parked it, battery still dead.
Went into the service department to speak to the advisor. He pulls up my truck on the computer to show me the list of parts they have received for it. The only missing at this time is one control arm. His new revised eta is about 2 more weeks.
I gave him the ok to replace the shocks that have never been replaced and the muffler that has a hole in it, he stated that these parts would not be covered, that I would have to pay for them. I told him now is the time to do this, go ahead and order the parts.
He told me they have two tech and all they do is frame replacements, Toyota pays the dealer 40 hours per truck and these two are doing them in a day and a half.
So things are looking up

 

Anybody have access to the parts list that is ordered?

 

Here's what I got. This doesn't include the leaf springs which were done previously (about 5 months prior by PO)

 

got the call from my dealer today that the parts showed up, that was awfully fast for a full frame relacement, unless the DCLB frames arent in very high demand. Im very curious if they are gonna give me shit over the aftermarket suspension bits and recovery bar on the front.

 

The frame swap has commenced!

 

Are you planning on putting some type of rust proofing on the New Frame?...I would like to find something that might help make my new frame last a long time.

 

Ive contemplated seeing if I could coat the new frame before they start swapping parts to it. I will probably do something to it regardless but, I had plans to build some frame sliders and may wait till I'm done welding them on.

 

I'm guessing that you guys are talking about the replacement process on your already filed claims? I just bought a 2005 Taco and I'm guessing that my truck would qualify but it looks like I missed the filing window?

I called my service advisor yesterday, he said he has received all of my parts. He hopes to have it completed in the coming week.
